  I also have the oldest model MBP550 purchased from America and I am satisfied. The cost for two cameras in America is only $150, so it was worth it. I bought it in Greece for our vacation because the old models do not connect to the mobile app. Initially, the American one has much better quality in terms of the material used for the controller. Although it is a bit more plastic-looking, it works just fine. It took me half an hour to figure out how to connect the app to my phone, but in the end, it was nothing special! I read comments about the sound, but mine works exceptionally well. If my husband speaks loudly in the adjacent room, I can hear him! The quality of the new camera is very good. Much better than the previous model. It is very expensive in Greece considering that it only comes with one camera. The range, which I read about, is not as accurate as they say (maybe the people were talking about defective products that were being tested). I took it with me to a hotel and without the app, it worked perfectly fine at the bar near the room (where there are heavy doors and well-insulated walls to prevent music from being heard in the rooms). But the app really saves you because you can check on the baby from anywhere. I left it with my mom and I could see her on the camera for a moment when my mom wasn't looking, and I managed to prevent her from eating anything off the floor that we hadn't cleaned properly. It delivers exactly what it promises, but it's not value for money. I haven't tried any other brand, so I can't say if it's worth getting another company that offers the same features for less money.

  Not at all good range, but the worst of all is the temperature indication. I don't trust it even remotely!!!! One time it showed 27 and the baby's room was barely at 23!!
  It definitely doesn't deserve its money in any case for sure..

  The speaker volume and microphone performance in sounds is completely faulty!!

  Maximum volume and you can't hear anything!!! Only if the baby is screaming and I didn't happen to have a defective product, we sent it to the dealership and they told me that this is the volume of the speaker.

  From what I read on forums, if you have the monitor screen on power, the volume increases a little but this doesn't actually solve the problem.

  The reason you get this device is to inform you with sound, then all the other features come into play.

  Fortunately, the store where I bought it replaced it with another one of the same brand and it works properly.
