Description

Yakuza Kiwami 2 will take you to Kamurocho and the wonderful world of the epic Yakuza 2, of which it is a remake. It is a third-person action and open-world game, with the player in the role of the fearless Kazuma Kiryu, who is not afraid to take on the Japanese yakuza.

The events unfold in the fictional districts of Kamurocho and Sotenbori in Tokyo and Osaka respectively, while the game includes an additional scenario (The Truth of Goro Majima) which serves as the perfect link between Yakuza and Yakuza 2.

For the development of the game, SEGA used the powerful Dragon Engine graphics engine. It is the same as Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, which means you can expect from Kiwami 2 an amazing world full of incredible details, realistic and smooth animation, and of course, relentless action and a fully cinematic experience.

In my opinion, it is inferior in gameplay compared to Yakuza 0 and especially Yakuza Kiwami 1. I believe that the fact they abandoned the fighting styles was a mistake, but some changes were necessary. Apart from that, they also abandoned the climax battles, which provided a lot of replayability in previous titles, and in my opinion, the game was overly easy with a few exceptions (I played on hard difficulty). As for the story, it lacks compared to its predecessors. Overall, it was a bit disappointing, but it has elements that limit this disappointment, such as the characters, Majima Construction (which was 1000 times better than real estate and the club in Yakuza 0), and the classic Yakuza moments

If there is a Video Game that deserves the title of the best Video Game of the year, then it is Yakuza Kiwami 2. Here we have a case that satisfies even someone who has high expectations when making a purchase, because the second Remake starring Kazuma Kiryu manages to become the ultimate title of the entire series. This is due to the fact that everything goes smoothly. The game's graphics, the main story, the gameplay, the side missions, and its considerable duration force you to want to engage with it for dozens of hours in two large but also charming cities that are not just beautifully designed but also have that rich content that doesn't make you easily bored because they are alive and not just decorative with shops, various mini-games, etc. The Yakuza series seems to have returned more dynamically than ever, giving a title that instantly becomes a classic in the world of Video Games because we are not dealing with just a nice title but one of the best Video Games ever made!
