Για όσους δεν το ξέρουν, τα Yakuza είναι τα spiritual successor των παιχνιδιών Shen-mu από το Dreamcast.

Το Yakuza Kiwami 2 (Kiwami θα πει Extreme) είναι remake του δεύτερου παιχνιδιού της σειράς. Έχει επιπλέον cut-scenes, βελτιωμένο gameplay και γραφικά σύμφωνα με το τελευταίο της σειράς (Υakuza 6). Επιπλέον έχει διάφορες βελτιώσεις όπως οι ελεύθερες μάχες του Yakuza 6, επιπλέον minigames, το Cabaret management mode του Yakuza 0, το Mazima Construction όπου ελέγχεις μια ομάδα τσατίλων και προστατεύεις ένα εργοτάξιο από κύματα από σαμποτέρ, και ένα επιπλέον μικρό campaign όπου ελέγχεις τον σχιζοφρενή χαρακτήρα Majima και διαδραματίζεται πριν τα γεγονότα του παιχνιδιού και κλείνει μια ιστορία που ξεκίνησε στο Yakuza 0.

Το παιχνίδι είναι στο στιλ της ρομαντικής εκδοχής της Yakuza των Ιαπωνικών ταινιών. Ελέγχεις τον Kazuma Kiriu. Έναν μεγαλόσωμο τρομαχτικό πρώην Yakuza lieutenant με χρυσή καρδιά που μόλις έχει αναλάβει την ανατροφή της κόρης μιας παιδική τους φίλης. Όταν ο παλιός του φίλος και τωρινός αρχηγός της πρώην οργάνωσης του δολοφονείται μπροστά στα μάτια του, αποφασίζει να επιστρέψει στην "ζωη", και με την βοήθεια μιας αστυνομικίνας να αποτρέψει έναν πόλεμο μεταξύ οργανώσεων.

Παρά του οτι είναι remake του δεύτερου παιχνιδιού του PS2, συγκριτικά με το προηγούμενο Remake του πρώτου παιχνιδιού Yakuza Kiwami (που συνιστάτε να έχετε παίξει πριν), αυτό είναι πολύ μεγαλύτερο και πολύ πιο βελτιωμένο, δουλεύοντας κυρίως στην dragon engine του Yakuza 6. Καθώς είναι και σε μειωμένη τιμή, αξίζει τα λεφτά του και με το παραπάνω.

ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ:
Συνιστάτε να παίξετε πρώτα τα Yakuza 0 και Yakuza Kiwami, καθώς θα γίνονται αναφορές σε αυτά, και αν αποφασίσετε να τα παίξετε μετά μπορεί να φάτε spoilers. Οι ιστορίες (ιδικά του Yakuza 0) είναι πραγματικά καλές!
Επίσης να ξέρετε ότι για κάποιον άγνωστο λόγο, στην Ευρώπη έφτασε αρχικά μόνον η Steelbook έκδοση του παιχνιδιού. Αν θέλετε την Standart edition (π.χ. για ομοιομορφία με τα άλλα της συλλογής σας), θα δυσκολευτείτε να την βρείτε στα μαγαζιά.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 (Kiwami means Extreme) is a remake of the second game in the series. It has additional cut-scenes, improved gameplay, and graphics according to the latest game in the series (Yakuza 6). It also has various enhancements such as the free battles from Yakuza 6, additional minigames, the Cabaret management mode from Yakuza 0, the Majima Construction where you control a team of troublemakers and protect a construction site from waves of saboteurs, and an additional small campaign where you control the schizophrenic character Majima and it takes place before the events of the game, closing a story that started in Yakuza 0.

The game is in the style of the romantic version of Yakuza in Japanese movies. You control Kazuma Kiryu, a big and intimidating former Yakuza lieutenant with a golden heart who has just taken on the upbringing of a childhood friend's daughter. When his old friend and current leader of the former organization is killed in front of him, he decides to return to "life" and, with the help of a policewoman, prevent a war between organizations.

Despite being a remake of the second game of the PS2, compared to the previous remake of the first game Yakuza Kiwami (which is recommended to have played before), this one is much bigger and greatly improved, mainly working on the dragon engine of Yakuza 6. As it is also at a reduced price, it is worth the money and more.

WARNING:
It is recommended to play Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami first, as there will be references to them, and if you decide to play them afterwards, you may encounter spoilers. The stories (especially that of Yakuza 0) are really good!
Also, be aware that for some unknown reason, in Europe, only the Steelbook edition of the game was initially released. If you want the Standard edition (e.g. for consistency with your other collection), you may have difficulty finding it in stores.
