Dear colleagues,

Five years after the last edition of "Internal Pathology," the Department of Pathology decided to proceed with the fifth edition of the book, aiming to modernize it, given that Medical science is constantly evolving, new knowledge is being added, and many of the old ones are no longer valid.

All the faculty members of the Department of Pathology responded immediately and enthusiastically to my invitation for the new edition of the book, and I want to thank them, each one individually and all together, for the effort they put in so that we have a modern educational tool for our students.

Warm thanks are due to the philologist Ms. Theodora Katsinelou, who edited the texts, and to Ms. Frosso Michali and her collaborators at the publishing house University Studio Press AE, who worked with their known consistency to achieve yet another excellent edition.
