Description

The "Forgotten Headlines" include thirty reports on various and often unexplored political, diplomatic, military, and social incidents of modern Greek history, which vividly occupied public opinion and newspaper headlines at the time, but most of them were sidelined by the major events of the period and ultimately "downgraded" to the level of bibliographic footnotes or classified as microhistory.
Their presentation is deliberately made in chronological order, so that on the one hand, from the emergence of the "general" through the detailed presentation of the "specific", the reader maintains a, even rough, sense of historical connections in the course of events, and on the other hand, the corpus of historical subperiods, to which the referenced events belong, is clearly illustrated.
The selection of topics was made with journalistic criteria and their approach with the methods of reporting: presence of originality or uniqueness, search for reliable sources, cross-referencing of each information, providing as much as possible documented and comprehensive answers to the fundamental journalistic questions: who, what, where, when, how, and why.
