This book is an attempt to present basic principles of "Atmospheric Pollution Control Technology" and aims to familiarize the reader with basic concepts. The first two chapters refer to basic concepts and definitions, while chapters 3 to 8 refer to basic provisions of pollution control technology for particulate pollutants. Chapters 9 to 12 refer to elements of pollution control technology for gaseous atmospheric pollutants, while chapter 13 deals with basic concepts on the dispersion of atmospheric pollutants. Because atmospheric pollutants play a major role in the climate changes observed in recent years on the planet, it was considered appropriate for the last chapter 14 to briefly refer to climate changes.

This edition is the first attempt to write the material covered in this book. In several points, an attempt has been made for a simplified view and description of phenomena and device operation, in order to make them easily understandable and to stimulate interest for further study. At the end of each section, simple questions or exercises have been included to better consolidate the material. [...]
