It has been over forty years since Richard Feynman taught the introductory physics lectures that led to the creation of these three volumes, titled "The Feynman Lectures on Physics". In these forty years, our understanding of the physical world has changed significantly, but the "Feynman Lectures" still stand the test of time. Today, these lectures are as powerful as when they were first published, thanks to Feynman's unique insight into physics and his teaching and pedagogical experience. The Lectures have become a subject of study worldwide by physicists, both those at the beginning of their careers and those who have already established themselves in their field. They have been translated into at least 15 languages and more than 1.5 million copies have been printed in English alone. Perhaps no other set of books has had such an impact for such a long period of time.
This final edition of Feynman's physics lectures differs from all previous editions in two respects: all known errors have been corrected, and additionally, a new fourth volume has been added, titled "The Feynman Physics Exercises: A Supplement for Solving Problems in the Physics Lectures". This supplement contains additional material from Feynman's courses: three lectures on problem-solving and one on inertial navigation, as well as solved exercises and their answers, edited by Feynman's collaborators, Robert B. Leighton and Rochus Vogt.
