Description

"In the Third Reich, an "ideologue" could see his philosophies put into practice, and Rosenmberg's ideas had fatal consequences for millions of people."

The book you are holding in your hands is a gripping account of true events in world history, read like an exciting novel. The starting point and main source of the narrative is the diary of Alfred Rosenmberg, one of the highest-ranking officials in the Third Reich. A close collaborator and top advisor to Adolf Hitler, a "philosopher" and the main ideological guide of the National Socialist Party, orchestrator of the looting of the greatest works of art from the European continent, but above all, the inspiration and protagonist of the "final solution" to the Jewish question, which led to the death of millions of people during World War II.

The diary was discovered at the end of the war in a Bavarian castle but mysteriously disappeared after the Nuremberg Trials, where Rosenmberg was convicted and executed for war crimes. It remained hidden for almost three-quarters of a century until recently, after an almost "cinematic" decade-long search, it came into the hands of former FBI special agent Robert Whitman. Poisonous, cynical, and extremely revealing, The Devil's Diary sheds light on historically significant events from 1936 to 1944: Hitler's rise to power, the consolidation of the National Socialist Party, the erosion of German society, Hitler's internal meetings with his close collaborators, tensions within the highest echelons, the invasion of the USSR, the theft of artworks and books from Europe, and the Holocaust. An exceptional historical narrative that helps us understand a little more about the hows and whys of one of the greatest atrocities of the 20th century.
