Soap of the few, with a timeless, incredible scent. Excellent performance that has nothing to envy from expensive artisan soaps at a quarter of their price. Even the current non tallow version of it. Especially the refill is incredibly value for money at this price, as long as you have a container or case to put it in for use.

It is the so-called "Vegan" (New Formula).
You will understand the difference from the ingredients listed on the back of the package.
The Vegan writes potassium laurate and not the basic ingredient potassium tallowate that the old one has. Other ingredients are missing (such as coconut milk, etc.).
I see a photo uploaded by someone else with the ingredients listed as potassium tallowate.
From the date of the evaluation, it is obvious that the evaluation is old, when the Old Formula still existed.
The old tabac is almost impossible to find because the Tallow has stopped being produced.Nevertheless, it is a good soap with a nice scent (the classic tabac scent).

This latest one I bought has a slightly more subtle scent. It has been a while, of course, and I may be mistaken. But I remember it smelling strongly and creating a rich and thick lather. The one I bought now is a little different. It has the necessary slipperiness and remains among the top in this job, but it doesn't excite me as much as the one I had bought in the past. Back then, I couldn't shave with anything else. Now it's not my first choice.

I was expecting something amazing and instead, it smelled like a simple soap. I was so disappointed that I hesitated to use it. However, when I did, I couldn't believe how good it is, until I started to like its scent. Very good lather with a little loading (so it will last a long time), great slickness and protection, good but not outstanding post shave. I consider it a value for money and an all-time classic soap, and it's worth trying it at some point.

I don't like the scent at all. But that is subjective.
Attention. This particular product does not contain tallow. They may have changed the composition. Therefore, although it lathers easily, it does not glide the razor like other soaps that contain tallow, nor does it protect the skin accordingly.

I used it for the first time a month ago. I do a "wet shave" every 1-2 days. Eight rotations of the brush on the soap are enough for a sufficient lather and a second pass afterwards. It seems like it will last me for a year. Its scent is nothing special. The quality of the soap is definitely good, but I can't say if it's worth its price (8 euros). I will come back with a more complete opinion in a few months.

I confirm what I wrote when I started using it. I only change the prediction for its duration. It will probably last around two years.

It ended up lasting about a year and a half. Possibly due to continuously stirring the wet brush directly in the bowl, for the last two months, small soap balls were spreading on my face. However, they melted after a few seconds and the shaving experience was not affected at all. Now I'm using the second soap, and until it finishes in 2025, I'm waiting to find out if there is a more value-for-money soap.

Having recently used two other products (one being a well-known and cheap soap, the other being a premium and expensive cream), I no longer have any doubts that it is the ideal choice for anyone who wants a good combination of quality, price, and practicality.
And I will say something different. Even if someone doesn't do a traditional shave, using this soap in combination with a decent brush worth 15 euros helps elevate the shaving experience, even with the usual 3 or 5-blade razors. The greasiness, the density of the foam with a very small amount, the scent (which remains even after shaving) but also the packaging which stays with you and you can place the soap inside it as it is available on the market without the bowl, are reasons why I highly recommend it.
I plan to also get the aftershave of the series and the cream.

For those who are interested in traditional shaving, this is one of the most well-known and classic soaps.
It lathers extremely easily with a soft brush and it is one of those products that crave water until you create the cream. In terms of performance, it has left me very satisfied, it glides nicely and my skin feels great afterwards.
The scent is definitely not fresh or refreshing in any way. I would describe it as heavy, classic but not overpowering in intensity. I can't smell it on my face after applying my aftershave. I'm not crazy about the scent, but it's not a deterrent for me to use it.
It's one of those soaps that don't run out easily because it is excessively hard, triple-milled, meaning it is dehydrated during production.
I highly recommend it without a second thought for someone looking for a value for money and efficient product. It has been in the market for so many years, so it must be doing something right!
