As I wrote for Battlefield 4 (which many of you found helpful),
it's time to write about Battlefield 1.
I wanted to take some time, play enough to draw a safe conclusion.
So, I have played around 220 hours of multiplayer and have completed the single player campaign. I have to say, everyone MUST buy this game to experience the war. I'm not saying this because everyone else is saying it, I'm saying it because it's true and you will understand it when you play it.
The Campaign
Is it short? Around 6 to 8 hours? It's not short, it's as long as it needs to be. Nice chapters, with great battles and graphics. And it's maybe the first Battlefield game where we don't get attached to the characters. The only thing that bothered me is that in most missions, we play solo. I would have liked to have a squad with me, around 100, 150 comrades. But overall, it's a pleasant short adventure.
TIP: Play the mission "Fog of War" on hard difficulty and turn off the HUD from the settings. You will remember me.
The Multiplayer
Which is the heart of the game, is worth every penny! The great graphics, the amazing sound, and the darkness in the atmosphere really put you in the mood of war, literally. It's more challenging than Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, stricter and structured in a way that eliminates trolling (which was present in the previous two games). Besides the classic Conquest, Rush, Team Deathmatch, and Domination modes, we have Operations, War Pigeons, and the latest mode, Frontlines. For the first time, I have hardly played Rush, which used to be my favorite mode. I play Conquest Large and Operations fanatically. Operations is an amazing mode that combines Conquest with Rush. The attackers try to capture the first two objectives to unlock the next part. Each map is divided into 4 parts, and if you capture all of them (gradually, as I mentioned), then you move to the next map, another map. And if you win there too, then the game ends. So, you can play for an hour and finish it. If the defenders are good and you don't capture the points in the 3 attempts available, then the game ends. Try it and you will get hooked!
The first DLC, which came out and features France, has 4 nice maps and vehicles. The weapons are average. From September, the second DLC, "Name of the Tsar," will be released, which will feature Russia, snowy maps, etc. From the first videos of YouTubers (JackFrags, Westie preferred), it looks amazing. The two night maps added this summer, Nivelle Nights and Prise de Tahure, are nice, especially the second one is fantastic!
Tip 1: Audio settings -> Speaker Type -> change it from hi-fi to War tapes.
Tip 2: Download the map Giant's Shadow for free.
Tip 3: If one of your friends has Premium, they can invite you to try the DLC maps.
Tip 4: Play with headphones.
INFO: So far, it takes around 111GB. (NOTE: I have the premium pass and have downloaded the DLCs)
Conclusion:
If you like Battlefield, buy it without hesitation,
BUT I repeat, don't expect to troll and have fun like in BF3 and BF4. The atmosphere they have created will put you in the role's skin. The weather conditions play a significant role indeed. Rain, sandstorm, fog. (Pilots can't see in fog and sandstorms). It's like in the Gulf of Oman in BF4 if you remember when the sandstorm came and for a while we couldn't see well. Also, the customization is very limited, don't expect a lot of variety in accessories, etc. With some bugs that exist, from me it's a 9/10.
UPDATE: The DLC "They Shall Not Pass" is free for everyone. (until 14/05/18)
