In this short essay, Alain Badiou returns to the deadly attacks of November 13, 2015 in Paris, attempting to shed light on the events in his own way. Who are the perpetrators of the mass murders? How can we characterize their actions? Where is the world in which we live, after the turn towards neoliberalism that took place - initially more covertly, then openly - about thirty years ago? Desperately missing, on a global scale, is a politics disconnected from dominant capitalism. As long as an alternative strategic proposal is not formulated, the world will remain hostage to the forces that currently dominate. We are all called upon to contribute so that the history of humanity changes direction, to emerge from the quagmire in which it is increasingly sinking.
