In this book, the major milestones of the Left are examined from the origins of modernity to the Syriza government. The achievements of the Left revealed from the beginning that "socialism" was nothing more than a different way out of domination and not a superior evolutionary stage compared to "capitalism". The blood shed on the streets of the 20th century had to do with whether the ownership of the economy would belong to the state or to the private individual. Not with the participation of society in the system.

The collapse of existing socialism revealed the universal consensus of the Left with the Right: in the political and economic system, in the purpose of politics, in the entrapment of society in privatization. Having settled their confrontation in the realm of power, they ended up competing for who would serve the purpose of markets more effectively. The conservative mutation of the Left brought it face to face with the demand for the political liberation of civil society. With the turn of the century, the Left will exit history.

In this climate, the Syriza Left, having long raised the flag of the doctrine "neither Marx nor the Greek ecumene", will fortify itself behind the reactionary semantics of "Enlightenment", in order to express in the most authentic way the most degenerate version of modern oligarchy, the partyocracy. A twin component of the "New Right", it took it upon itself to "degrade" Hellenism, through the "appropriation" of the Greek country.
