The volume attempts to capture key aspects and main research orientations of the history of women and gender as they have been shaped in the Greek context, while also seeking to discuss gender as a category of historical analysis in relation to international historiographical trends. The texts contained in the volume sometimes move within the framework of historiographical assessments, highlighting issues of broader methodological and epistemological interest, and sometimes focus on specific examples from Greek history, contributing to the enrichment of relevant historiography by highlighting new topics or formulating new research questions. The history of women and gender and the feminist perspective in historiography are intertwined here with a range of issues such as education, work, family, politics, masculinities and femininities, art, the body, sports, sexuality, and space. The volume is addressed to both the academic community and the wider reading audience, with the expectation of mobilizing interest in our country for further research and deepening into issues concerning gender in history.
