I bought this specific lip balm not only for its sun protection action but also for another reason. It contains lysine (that's how it's written). I often suffer from herpes outbreaks, and while searching on the internet, I saw that the amino acid lysine is the natural enemy of herpes. So I chose it because it's the only one that claims to have lysine. This is not a scientific opinion, it's my own opinion. I don't recommend it to others as a medication or aid for herpes. I just thought of it this way and bought it. Overall, I am satisfied. I can't conclude if it helps with herpes because I also take vitamins, but since I started using it, I haven't had any herpes outbreaks (approximately 1-2 months of use).
