"Today comes from yesterday, the future emerges from the past." Two culturally "paradigmatic" examples emerged from the past, crucial to human history: the Greek sociocentric and the Western European (post-Renaissance) individualistic "example". These two "examples" are contradictory, asymptotic; the realization of one presupposes the consistent denial-rejection of the other. Today's globalized culture of the "West" is the reversal of the terms of the once Greek culture, the turning upside down (like an inverted glove) of its conditions and goals.

Reminding of this cosmohistorical "Schism" may bear personal resistance to the primitivism of individualism and utilitarianism - to the "radical nihilism" (radikale Nihilismus) that Nietzsche denounced as the most terrible nightmare for Europe.
