The Gamefound collector's edition comes in a larger and more beautiful box (with gold foil stamping and embossing) than the retail edition. It includes a painted airplane miniature and 3 additional battle dice, 15 metal endurance markers, a miniature for each of the five playable characters (the retail edition features cardboard standees, which are also included in the collector's edition), as well as the Thunderstorm Isle expansion.

Thunderstorm Isle

Thunderstorm Isle is a distant location off the atlas that you can fly to with your airplane. It includes 40 adventure and quest cards, a new map, random encounters, and a small storybook. It is a wet and dirty island full of dangers and mysteries. Additionally, you must be careful not to get struck by lightning in the almost always present storms! You can integrate this expansion into any of your Distant Skies campaigns, even your first one. Unlike the remote locations in the game, Thunderstorm Isle is an entire map with many locations.
