At first everything was fine, I was amazed by the phone. After a period of 1.5 months, problems started mainly with applications, for example, Facebook had issues from the beginning, it was slow to load messages, I had to open it twice to load messages. I don't have any issues with Google, especially with TikTok, it has problems loading messages, something that I didn't have with the Samsung s10, I didn't have any of these problems. I have no complaints about the battery and Bluetooth, as well as the screen, for example, brightness and resolution
I bought this phone in January 2024 and after about 6 months, I am completely disappointed.
1. Battery with moderate use (about 1 hour on calls, around 6-7 emails, and a couple of hours on WhatsApp messages, etc., and some browsing) lasts only 15-16 hours at most.
2. Very slow and with frequent freezes.
3. Call quality is mediocre.
4. Apps constantly crash.
5. It's not even worth €200 because there are excellent options for this price compared to this phone.
6. The Bluetooth has one of the worst connections I have ever experienced. It constantly loses signal and even when it connects, the connection is not stable!!!
It should be noted that it has fallen from my hands twice, but even with the case I have put on, it hasn't suffered any damage.
I don't know if some bought it for less than 300 euros, I got it for 350 and I am very satisfied. Specifically, coming from xiaomi mi 10 lite with also an OLED screen and considering the "value for money" (xiaomi), I conclude that even after the years that have passed, the Motorola is much faster, much more stable, I will also say that it looks like a premium device, good connection with everything, huge storage space, with real 5g, good camera, normal battery, the edge gives it a feeling of something different that however does not create dysfunction in contact.. overall a very good choice for those who do not want an iPhone or Galaxy but neither Xiaomi nor any of the other Chinese companies.
I have it for 2 weeks, a pretty honest mobile phone with a nice, very bright POLED 144hz screen where you feel how smooth it is. The Dolby speakers basically do what they promise as a name, the camera is average but for social use it's okay. As for the battery, it has a capacity of 5000 where it easily lasts 1 day with heavy use, you will have 20% available at the end of the day. The only drawback is the upgrades and compatibility it has with some applications as notifications are delayed on Facebook messenger etc. as it still has android 13.
I think the Motorola G is excellent in everything, with a nice bright screen in the sun, the sound from the speakers is quite strong and of good quality, a bit lacking in bass but it's a mobile not a sound system. Wonderful in holding conversations, flawless, waterproof quality for the price, more than decent. For me, the battery lasts about a day and a half with normal use, I don't play games. Charges quickly. I come from Samsung and Xiaomi mid-range devices and this Motorola is ultimately for a higher category, worth its euros.
The most useless phone. I bought one for myself and one for my wife. Problematic Bluetooth connection in the car with poor sound quality, the other person can't hear you, constant interruptions. The same goes for hands-free, the same goes for speakerphone, constant interruptions in the sound. The battery shuts down immediately when it reaches 9%. The battery barely lasts 1 day with normal use. My wife's phone has the same problems. Two out of two!
In use for 9 months. Excellent device in every aspect - screen, battery, camera, video, sound, connectivity, signal, sensors, charging, size, weight. It is the second consecutive Motorola device I have used and it is exceptional. Especially for the 250 euros I paid, the phone is truly an incredibly good purchase.
One impressive feature is the optimized charging. While you are awake and you plug it in to charge, it reaches full charge very quickly, but while you are asleep it will charge more slowly. For example, if it detects that you usually sleep after midnight and wake up at 9, if you plug it in for charging before going to sleep, it will quickly charge the battery up to 80% and the remaining 20% will charge very slowly until 9 in the morning. This way, overcharging is avoided.
In the 9 months, it has not presented any problems at all. The face unlock works quickly and the same goes for all the gestures for quick activation of the camera, flashlight, etc
Very powerful mobile. Fast, with an awesome screen and amazing photos and videos! It also plays games very quickly. I come from Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and we're talking about a day and night upgrade! Its battery is also very good, but the charging it has is amazing. I plug it in to charge for a few minutes while I get ready to go out and it's almost fully charged in 5-10 minutes! I've had it for two weeks already and I'm very satisfied so far. At €330 that I found it, it's worth its money and more!
I have had it since October 2023 and I am very satisfied. I believe it is value for money for its category. Obviously, do not expect iPhone or Pixel camera quality. Very fast though so far in response. I also really appreciate the completely clean android UI of Motorola. No extra themes and bloatware like other companies (cough Xiaomi cough).
Oh also, I have dropped it so many times on the floor from the bed or desk and nothing has happened to it (maybe I am lucky but it shows something to a degree). It also has many nice features like gestures to do many different things faster.
Its battery is super and also how fast it charges, impresses me every time even after so long.
I curse not to have scratched it so far.
Having owned a Huawei P Smart 2021 since December 2020, I had been looking to replace it for a while... it was a hassle without Google services. I found this Motorola for 250 euros at the KOTSOVOLOS outlet within the TIF, really an excellent phone for that price! I've had it for almost 2 weeks now, and I have no complaints about its functions. At first, I had a small issue with the sound... but by searching in the settings, accessibility, and sound customization, I achieved a much better sound in the settings that I uploaded in a screenshot. Other than that... the charger charges it very quickly, in about 20 minutes it's almost full from 20%, and the camera is good in all conditions. I hope it will last me 2 to 3 years as well.
Beautiful, fast, and value for money!
The screen is perfect, the charging is incredibly fast, and the camera is unreal for this price... especially in low-light photos where other phones in this category don't perform well at all.
The only downside for me is not the battery, which seems sufficient, but the lack of an sd card slot. However, everything is saved with cloud storage...
Get it with your eyes closed, there is no competitor at this price!
First of all, it is a very beautiful, slim and convenient mobile phone that is light and works very well without any lag, despite having MediaTek. The screen is excellent, which also drains the battery quickly. The photos and videos are satisfactory as well.
The phone is excellent in terms of screen and sound...now, for the battery, I would have liked it to be a little better, but considering the screen resolution, it's logical for it to consume a bit more battery! The sound is very good, it doesn't distort the phone!!! The photos are quite good!!! The size of the phone is perfect, I can say that it looks like a phone worth over 600 euros... After years of being a Xiaomi owner, I can say that Motorola did an excellent job by entering the market aggressively!!! This phone is definitely worth it, it doesn't lag anywhere, tested and proven!!!!
The mobile phone is really amazing, where to start, amazing screen with very good brightness, the phone scrolls like a hot knife on butter, I was amazed by the photos and videos, the sound is very good and the speakers are loud, I don't play games and I don't have an opinion, I haven't found anything negative, maybe the battery could have been slightly better but the fast charging surpasses even this problem
The battery indeed does not last long, depending on the usage. This is not such a big problem. I tried it underwater... I had no sound for about 2 hours until the speakers dried. I do not recommend it for underwater use, also because if it is not locked, one application opens after another due to the water. The sound is average, I expected it to be much better, what a shame. Finally, there are no pre-installed applications for memory cleaning, etc. It is not a cheap phone at 400 euros, I expected it to be a little better, it is also narrow, I would prefer a slightly larger screen after all. However, it is very beautiful and excellent for games as well. Calls are very good and the wifi is also very strong.
Purchased in black color, the mobile phone is a gem. For its price, with the accessories included in the package, it is more than a fair purchase. Having the iPhone and comparing it, I really can't find anything less, neither in photo nor in video. It scrolls so nicely and smoothly that you can't call it slow, being a pure Android. The screen is wonderful, filling the entire mobile without almost any bezels. Motorola has done a great job, even with the applications it has included, which make your life easier in terms of connecting to a computer, TV, etc. Regarding the battery, despite the comments I read, I didn't find anything strange. I would even say that besides charging quickly, it holds normally. Also, I don't understand the comments about the speakers. It's a mobile phone, not a sound system. They sound very nice, loud, and clear. I sincerely recommend it because it is a complete package at a very good price. I hope I helped some people who want to buy it in the future.
Several software and application compatibility issues (e.g. messenger doesn't work), mediocre sound, nonexistent Dolby Atmos. Very low battery life, lack of support for upgrades from Motorola. On the positive side, the camera and build materials are good. It's barely value for money, I would look for something else for the same price.
Good evening,
To avoid a purchase that you will regret, check here first for the issues:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/motorola-edge-40-neo/bd-p/motorola_edge_40_neo_en
Positives:
1: Good rear camera, especially in low light conditions.
2: For a P-OLED display, which usually has burn-in issues, it hasn't experienced any problems yet, although Motorola has not yet provided a software fix.
3: VOLTE, 4G/5G, WI-FI Calling are all functioning.
4: Very fast charging, and a good factory package with a Type C - Type C cable.
5: The phone, due to Stock Android, is relatively fast.
Negatives:
1: I can't say anything positive about the selfie camera, I expected something better for this price.
2: The battery life is not good at all, it doesn't last a day with 4G and a 90Hz display. It used to have even worse battery drain issues, but fortunately, it doesn't overheat yet, we'll see in the summer.
3: Motorola claims to provide security updates every 2 months, but it still has the November date for Android 14, nowhere to be found yet. (PS Only Samsung is a pioneer in this).
4: You can't find a good screen protector anywhere due to the curved display, and the adhesive is on the edges, making touch difficult. The best solution is to buy one externally with UV adhesive. Screen protectors peel off when using a case, even with its own plastic or glass one. It could have a factory-installed screen protector like Xiaomi phones. If you are a fan of Spiegen, they have stopped producing for Motorola, even in the US.
5: So far, it has issues with the Facebook Messenger App, there is an open thread in Lenovo-Motorola Support.
@Update 11/3 The problems continue, with overheating, poor battery life even on 4G and Auto for the Refresh rate. Delays in updates - security updates via OTA, while there are updates in the RSA application, but it requires resetting the settings to update, so it's a big no. The most important thing is that there are delays in notifications from many popular apps, such as WhatsApp, Viber, Xiaomi Home. Generally, on the Motorola-Lenovo forum, you will see many issues reported by various users worldwide, not only for this specific phone but also for other Motorola phones. I don't think there will be any update for Android 14 soon. It's a shame for the money...
For those who don't want to read an essay, here's my conclusion after 15 days of use: Very good for its price (especially now that it's priced at €360), but with two drawbacks. Some flaws in the menu and the battery. Here's the report: Our opinions here are subjective and are meant to help interested parties gather some information about the product, not make a decision. Coming from a very good phone (Poco F3), I switched primarily for one reason. It's not acceptable for a phone in the €450 range (when I bought it) to have unresponsive buttons during calls. So I decided to go with Motorola (with the first choice being the One Plus Nord3 and the final "winner" being the Edge 40 Neo due to a price difference of about €55). Therefore, I judge a phone with two parameters in mind: the previous one and my expectations. The Edge 40 Neo (256GB version) is very lightweight, with a nice touch and quality materials. But what's the point of all that when 99 out of 100 people use a case? Also, the curved screen is very nice but also vulnerable as it can't have a screen protector. So the advantages of the design and appearance often weaken and can't be a deciding factor. The phone is very fast. Similarly fast as the Poco F3. The usage I give it is sufficient but not for gaming. I spend a lot of time on the internet, on YouTube, make several calls, listen to music, take photos. The battery is disappointing for such usage. While with the Poco, I would reach 20% by late evening, with the Edge 40 Neo, I'm close to 0% by late evening! The 68W charger is good, but I was more impressed by the fast battery drain than the fast charging. Of course, I have the screen on automatic refresh rate, while maybe at 60Hz, I would have had much better results. The photos are good, better than the Poco F3, as well as the video. For its price, I consider them very good. Also, it's great that it's waterproof (although I've never needed it in the past). The sound is good. The menu is good, but not better than the infamous MIUI of Xiaomi. It doesn't have an always-on display app, and you have to download it. And I find it tragic that all phones of this price range don't have an LED notification light or a headphone jack. It's also annoying that I can't turn off the flash when receiving calls. I hope it gets fixed with an update. Finally, something that almost no one writes about, especially those who do presentations. Call quality and proximity sensor. The call quality is very good. I can hear and be heard very well. It was quite good on the POCO F3 as well, but there was an issue with the proximity sensor. It would open apps, move apps around or even delete them while I was on a call. On the Edge 40 Neo, the proximity sensor is better, and the only thing that has happened to me when talking on the phone (without headphones) is that the screen locks, and when I want to end the call, I have to unlock it first. In the end, I believe that for the money I paid (€400), I got a value-for-money phone.
Excellent mobile phone on all levels. Beautiful, user-friendly, lightweight (both in weight and in use due to pure Android), with its strongest points being the sound, the front camera, and the battery that lasts for more than a day with normal use. The only weak point I have found after a month of use is the selfie camera, which for me is a minor detail compared to the overall picture of an excellent all-around mobile phone.
Former owner of Honor, the device is great, photo quality is perfect during the day, at night with settings it's okay. The video is crystal clear, but the stabilization doesn't do a good job, I had the same quality with the Honor which didn't have stabilization. The solution? A €300 phone and a €100 small good gimbal (mainly for trips) and you're all set. Not €600, not €800, not €1000. I won't mention clean android, RAM, IP68, etc. because I consider them obvious (that's why you go for Motorola). The screen is very good. Now, about the battery, okay. I don't play games. The usage is for browsing, calls, music at the gym, etc. Well, it lasts ONE day. That's it. However, with the 68-watt charger (they provide it, not like other companies), the phone charges from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes, so everything is perfect.
I bought the phone with great reservation during a sale...
I hadn't seen it anywhere open so that I could operate it and see if it satisfies me...
Well, after years with Huawei, I couldn't find something that satisfies me...
Finally, I found it in Motorola... it lacks in the camera department, (not that it's bad, it's actually fine, I just consider Huawei's phones flawless in cameras)... but overall, it's perfect!
Fast, wonderful screen, perfect size for my standards, user-friendly menu, good battery (which initially ran out relatively quickly but improved over time), fast charging...
It doesn't have its own gallery application, it uses Google's (which doesn't bother me much, but I have downloaded the gallery app and everything is fine).
I don't play demanding games, but it has never frozen in anything else I use it for...
Regarding the issue of updates that I had read that Motorola lags behind, I don't have a complete opinion since I have had it for a short time... so far, it has done one update as soon as I opened it and another one a month later.
It is a good, complete device for its price!
A mid-range mobile phone that "shakes up" the stagnant waters for some companies in this category.
- We start with perhaps the only negative aspect of the phone, which is the battery. It barely lasts 24 hours with regular use (5-7 hours per day recorded - not gaming), but this is compensated by the super-fast 68watt charging.
- The rear camera is satisfactory, it doesn't impress but it's reasonable for a mid-range mobile. The selfie camera is quite good. By downloading the Gcam app, the photo quality improves significantly. Although there is image stabilization in the lens, don't expect anything extraordinary in videos.
- Quick response in applications, large 12GB memory, it doesn't lag anywhere. Motorola made a good choice to keep the pure Android (better than some companies that have their own Android with bloatware and ads).
- Motorola's applications are very useful and practical, not commonly found in "clean" Android.
- The screen is curved and has up to 144Hz, ideal for movies/series/games and rare at this price. It requires attention as many people find it relatively easy to scratch.
- IP68 waterproofing and dust protection, also something that is not often found as certification even in more expensive models.
- Hybrid stereo speakers noticeably louder than average, they reproduce sound well (it's logical that there are no low frequencies in a slim mobile) and the speaker is crystal clear during calls. It comes pre-installed with Dolby Atmos for even better sound performance in all situations.
It is certain that in recent years, Motorola has made a comeback in the market and has rightfully regained attention.
First time I buy a Motorola phone. Owner for a week, I haven't encountered any issues. The processor, although I didn't expect it, is fast without any lag. The battery easily lasts a day with my usage, about one and a half days. Charging is very fast, cameras are great both during the day and at night. Because I had Xiaomi phones all these years, the operating system gave me a little trouble until I found the right settings, but eventually, with a little searching and some YouTube, I got it exactly where I wanted it. It's a bit narrower compared to other phones, but that doesn't bother me at all, and it's very slim in my hand, which makes it very convenient to handle. It's definitely worth its money and Motorola has done a great job.
Former owner of Samsung mobiles. This one is fast, has a good camera, and a powerful speaker. I have had it for a month. Its menu is somewhat more complicated and not so user-friendly. I would like some different functions, for example, when it is in battery-saving mode, there is no option for vibration for incoming notifications. Also, if the battery is not in power-saving mode, it is difficult for it to last a whole day with normal to demanding use.
As soon as you hold it in your hands, you feel the quality of construction, slim and elegant with a beautiful screen, very fast and with satisfactory battery life which charges very quickly. The photos are top-notch and worth the money, I easily believe it surpasses mobiles with higher value. Bravo to Motorola for this phone, they did a good job and at a good price for its features.
Nice device, slim and lightweight. The screen is amazing. Coming from the redmi note 10 pro, the difference is huge.
With heavy usage, I easily get 8-9 hours of screen-on time per day. I charge it every night. Very satisfied with the battery as I saw some reviews mentioning high consumption. Unfounded. Battery is top-notch.
The main camera is fantastic. In low-light conditions, it's one of the best.
The selfie camera is average.
However, what disappointed me is the speakers. I consider the sound to be mediocre.
The mobile phone has no rival in its category. Its camera is incredible, especially for night shots where many other phones fall behind. The calls have crystal-clear sound, and the charging is unbelievably fast, with the battery lasting a whole day even with heavy multitasking use. I haven't found any negative points so far, and I've had it for two weeks
The best for these money, beautiful, lightweight, slim, and very fast. The camera is well above average and the curved screen makes it stand out. Motorola continues its upward trajectory. 12GB RAM and 256GB with a very good camera, it has it all.
