The Birkenstock Mayari thong sandal is a modern model with a toe loop. The upper is made from skin-friendly, durable synthetic material Birko-Flor® in a refined nubuck look, which features a texture and color that could almost be mistaken for real leather.

Insole: Natural Leather
Natural leather is recognized by its untreated surface. Birkenstock intentionally does not process the grains of the surface and other characteristics. Birkenstock uses durable leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters as the upper material.
Substrate Material: Cork
Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak tree. This natural product is insulating and offers very good shock absorption.
Outsole: EVA
EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very lightweight, elastic material with exceptionally good shock absorption. As a result, it smooths out small floor irregularities and ensures that every step is softly cushioned.

First time I choose this brand. At first, they were very uncomfortable and strange, but as I wore them, I eventually discovered that they are incredibly comfortable. However, I have to say that after three weeks they started hurting me. Very strange, but the mark is still there (1 month later). I definitely recommend them, just know that in this design I needed a smaller size.
