It seems to be a very good phone. I had the Samsung Galaxy S7 for 6 years, excellent in all aspects. Unfortunately, it was downgraded due to lack of updates because of its age. I got the A55 and I have a modern, fast, and clear phone, beautiful and very convenient. I believe it surpasses or is on par with the iPhone 12 to 14, and the Samsung Galaxy S21 to S23. Very good as a build with fantastic photos, it falls a bit short in video recording. It does not overheat, while its battery with normal use [a fair amount of internet browsing, a little Facebook, emails, NFC purchases, and online radio for 2 hours every day] lasts 36 hours. I highly recommend it. I was amazed by the data transfer from the old to the new phone... I got it in 24 interest-free installments for €400, white, 8GB/256. I will be back...
One of the best phones I have used and both the cameras are amazing. At first, I was impressed that it heated up very quickly, but after the software update, it improved. It is a pretty fast phone and has many features, such as the AI assistant which is quite useful for searches. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to buy a good phone without spending a lot of money!
3 months in possession and I noticed a significant change in the charging time. It takes a little longer. Good camera, fast phone, and perfect appearance
Owner of the phone for 10 days and upgraded from the Redmi Note 8 Pro. At first glance, the phone impresses you with its build quality; it is similar to more expensive phones from the company, it is truly beautiful! The screen has very good resolution and brightness, the sound is wonderful, and the call quality is very good. As for the cameras, the rear cameras are quite decent; I haven't recorded video, but unfortunately, the selfie camera is inferior to my previous phone. I will focus on the battery and say that with very heavy use, it easily lasts the day, and I have never needed to charge it in between; it charges slowly, but that's not an issue since charging happens at night. Also, the annoying ads that Xiaomi phones have are 100% absent! Overall, I would say that the phone is worth 100% of its price; it doesn't stand out in any area and is the definition of a "calm device" without "getting on your nerves" anywhere! Purchase price 268 euros with tax exemption!
Well, I have to say I was the owner of the A51, A53, A54, which were all perfect in every way, now I plan to get the A55, and I am sure it is even better! It is also very beautiful, for its price it doesn't offer anything better, and only Samsung gives you 4 years of Android updates and one year of software security, and it doesn't lag anywhere and is very fast, and has very good sound!
Coming from the fantastic realme gt neo 2, the A55 is a very nice phone overall. I didn't see any issues with the battery, it lasts up to 2 days depending on usage. Playing games, it's reasonable that it decreases, but still not anything tragic. The screen is incredible, brightness is excellent, and it's fast in whatever I ask for. Finally, the photos are excellent. I think it's a very good purchase!!!
Battery sucks, comparison point an old 2-year-old phone worn out from use drained battery almost the same disappointment. I took it for a day and then returned it. Not to mention the USB indicator flashes that it's charging. without having a cable connected slow and freezes. Unacceptable for a 2024 model phone.
To Samsung A55, it is an excellent phone, I bought it for my mother in a 256gb offer at a dirt cheap price (260€) honestly. Picture, sound, and quality at the zenith for the category it belongs to.
** Important: regarding the GPS problem that people mention in other reviews, they are absolutely right... HOWEVER, after searching a bit online, I found a list of possible solutions. This resolved the issue. **
The solutions I found are as follows:
1) Settings - Software update - Download and Install.
Settings - Software update - Download and Install
2) Toggle Airplane Mode and then Untoggle
Tap to enable Airplane Mode & then disable it again
3) Update Google Maps

4) Restart Mobile Device
Restart your mobile device
5) Settings - Location - Mode, Choose High Accuracy
Settings - Location - Choose High Accuracy
***If none of the above works, it is advisable to contact the store where you purchased the phone and have them provide a solution through the product warranty, as GPS is a feature of the phone and must work...***
1) Terrible build quality. You really can't believe that the device costs a little over 300 euros (at the time of the review).
2) The battery easily lasts a day of demanding use. Charging is not fast, however. It takes about 1.30-2 hours for a full charge.
3) Very good software (coming from iOS). It lacks nothing. The only complaint I have about Samsung is the notification management, especially when you choose one of the modes you want. The customization seems difficult to me - the corresponding focus mode of iPhones is much easier to set up.
4) The camera is satisfactory in good lighting conditions, the same goes for the video. Don't expect miracles.
5) Finger unlock is okay, a bit slow. Face unlock is unacceptable, especially if there is no lighting - I have it permanently disabled.
Overall, the phone offers amazing value for its price. It is good in all areas, without being exceptional in any.
In all aspects, it is perfect....the only downside is that the GPS signal is lost, it requires a restart and then it works again, I hope an update will fix it...
For the money, I am more than satisfied. So far, I haven't encountered any glitches on the phone. As for the battery, it lasts a day with usage I would say more than normal.
The phone is generally good and beautiful, but I got it for very simple use to make calls and have maps, and the maps don't work at all, there's no signal, something always happens. Pure hassle
very nice device for the money fast and really lasts 2 days the battery with nice hours of use during the day. and with live wallpapers that I have which also consumes battery in general now how long it will last to hold will show
Very good and fast phone! Its battery is reliable, and the photos, as well as the camera recording, are more than satisfactory! In short, I am very pleased with the performance of the phone!
I accidentally deleted a previous review of mine...
I will summarize it more concisely.
Having the S23 Ultra as my primary device, I got this one as a second.
The screen is acceptable with satisfactory resolution, but the contrast-brightness-color vibrancy is nowhere near the S23 Ultra (considerably inferior), yet it ultimately gets the job done.
Photos are very good for the price category.
Battery is top-notch... 10 hours SOT and 24 hours standby from 100% to 15% with two active SIMs.
Face unlock and fingerprint recognition work flawlessly for me...
A key advantage of the device is the ability to use 2 physical SIMs and alternatively an eSIM.
Also (a key advantage) is the use of a microSD card up to 1TB if the 256GB of internal storage is insufficient; however, the use of a second SIM in this case will be an eSIM.
It runs all applications, is extremely fast, and doesn't lag anywhere.
Samsung supports the device for at least two years as far as I know, both in terms of the operating system and security updates.
The size is a bit larger than I would like, but I overlook it because the size (of the battery) matters here.
Build quality is top-notch.
The price is very good even outside of Skroutz.
I give it 5 stars because it is perfect for its price!
Update 12/9/2024
One positive and one negative:
Regarding the screen, the ability to increase color vibrancy has been added from the settings menu, which greatly improved the appearance of the screen.
In photos, I noticed that under certain conditions of increased light in the center of the frame, it darkens the photo significantly, causing underexposure, which does not happen, for example, with the S23 Ultra...
I hope this will be fixed with some update...
Everything was fine until at some point when I needed the GPS, it couldn't find a signal (while the mobile signal had one bar). I kept trying again and again with the destination to get the classic signal of the triangle representing the car, and it wouldn't show up. I pressed the map to refocus, and again I didn't have the classic route image of a GPS map. Meanwhile, at that moment, my neighbor had a simple Redmi (not a Note series, imagine it had a micro USB charging port instead of Type C) and he connected to his "mission" immediately. I don't know if it's a responsibility because it doesn't have a Snapdragon and how much that affects it. The previous model, the A52 4G that I had, didn't freeze this much either. I probably won't go for a device that doesn't have a Snapdragon processor again.
I previously had the A51 and later the A52s. The difference in battery life is noticeable. It really lasts a day with heavy use. The camera is okay, though I had higher expectations. After a month of use, it doesn't lag at all.
Well, on the positive side, great screen, very good battery all day (10 hours) with data, and I come home with 35%, perfect sound, amazing call quality, very high-quality construction! The camera is average, what saves it is the night mode which takes photos in complete darkness! On the negative side, no charger is provided, it's a bit slow, and a little heavier than it should be, the biggest downside, and I will emphasize this a lot, is the fingerprint unlocking, simply useless, slow, difficult to use, and frustrating; in the 5 times you touch the fingerprint sensor, it MAY work... for example, inside the car on the mount that moves a little, the fingerprint will never unlock... very bad!!
One of the best phones in the mid-range category... basically it is underrated to be placed in the mid-range category because it has nothing to envy from the higher category.... very good camera and generally runs everything...
Incredible phone in the midrange A category, amazing design with curves, and many who say it resembles an iPhone are right. The aluminum casing and the fit in the hand when you hold it are excellent, very comfortable, extremely fast, and I have no issues with the battery; it lasts me until the evening. These are preferences and what requirements each person has, and you can customize it to your liking. I am knowledgeable in many aspects of Samsung regarding customization to make it faster, apps with inertia, and many other things. You can also tweak it for battery reserve. Many complain here about battery issues, not this or that; Samsung has the most stable software of all the phones I have tried. FINALLY, yes, it bothers me that it comes barebones with just a cable, but I got over it because it has quality in everything. The A55 is TOP; we said these are preferences, buy it yesterday, not today, undoubtedly.
Note that the fingerprint scanner is a blast, very fast, just when creating the fingerprint, apply it twice; this will make a huge difference. Conversely, if you put on a screen protector, use glass, delete the fingerprints and recreate them again twice. A dark screen protector will not work properly, and you will be frustrated. Note that I have no problems at all with GPS; everything works like a charm
First time I’m stepping up from the low budget category. Coming from Samsung Galaxy J5, J5 2017, and Galaxy A31. The last dog that fought and continues to fight for 4 years. Well, the phone, guys, is absolutely incredible. The graphics, the camera, the video, the screen, the colors, the navigation get a 10/10 from me without much thought. However, one of the main features that disappointed me is its battery. Losing 1% every ten minutes is something that doesn’t go unnoticed. In use, I don’t baby it, that’s the truth. But I’m not one of those people who will spend all day playing games. I’ve lowered the screen to 60hz and I pay attention to many details. For that reason alone, if I could, I would give it 4.5 stars because for a mid-range phone, quite a bit of money was spent (plus the charger, the screen, and the case). I don’t know if it’s something natural for its specifications, but the battery is and will remain something significant in my criteria. The conclusions are yours.
Excellent phone in every way! Very fast and without lag. A plus is its sound, which is stereo, as it uses the earpiece as a second speaker. Its only downsides are its weight and thickness, which are similar to an iPhone.
I have been a owner for about a week.
Previous device Huawei P30.
Positives: good features with its strong point being the design and build quality.
Negatives: the phone heats up excessively. I was playing radio from an app and it felt like I was playing games for hours. I would expect a slightly better battery (about 2 days). Also, the device lags in the browser.
Overall, after researching on the internet, this specific series uses a cheaper processor (Exynos) instead of the Snapdragon from the S series. Resulting in poor performance and overheating even on simple tasks. I would choose a Xiaomi
I got it 3 months ago, I had the Xiaomi Redmi 10C and it was a big change, the camera takes perfect 4K resolution and amazing photos for its price, in games it is quite good and plays them without difficulty, the battery is also quite good for casual users unless you are constantly playing games or scrolling all day you will need a charge earlier, I highly recommend it, it's worth it for a mid-range option.
Coming from the Redmi 9, I have to say that it is a balanced phone, it does everything excellently but not perfectly, it is fast, the battery is top-notch, the screen is quite bright in the sun, and the photos are average to good. In terms of quality, perfect in my opinion, I recommend you buy it.
*Note: The phone does not come with a case or a screen protector, it only comes with its charging cable and the SIM Eject pin (cheap in quality but it exists).*
Let's write something serious on this platform, because it seems that most people are Samsung fans and want to praise their brand. In general, it is a good phone with excellent support from the company but... NOT for the price category of 350-400€ (256 version). It is noticeable that Samsung wants to cash in on its name and prices it higher. However, having seen Xiaomi, Realme, Motorola, and One Plus in the same category, I can say that it is significantly behind all models priced in the same price range. Specifically in terms of camera, battery life, and performance, it falls behind the competition. The rest is of minor importance. If it were a device close to the 300€ mark, then yes, it would compete with claims and maybe even take the crown of the category.
Quite reliable and functional. It bothers me that it doesn't have a headphone jack and it doesn't come with headphones or a charger, but that's a general downside. The battery lasts a full day with normal use. It heats up excessively at the top when using 5G, but again, it could be due to the poor signal reception in Greece. So far, it's been good. ;)
