Made with a lighter midsole and updated mesh upper, the Clifton 9 provides a pleasant feel underfoot throughout the workout. The main principle is maximum shock protection and soft landing combined with very low weight.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
The shoe is excellent in cushioning, thanks to its thick and soft material sole. You feel like you have springs pushing you upwards with every step. The only negative is that the foot gets a little warmer during use. The reason is that the fabric is very dense on the upper part and the foot does not breathe very well. I think it is one of the best shoes on the market.
One of the worst shoes I have ever worn. I bought them for orthopedic reasons and hours of work and I had heard very good comments. My experience is that they destroyed my feet with blisters and calluses. ☹️
The best shoe I don't use them for running but at work all day standing. very comfortable very soft very light
It's not a hidden gem, it's a disappointment. So many positive reviews, maybe from users in the first week, but it can't be explained otherwise. After 3 months, there are tears on the sides and back inside the heel. The bottom looks like I've had them for 2 years, excessive wear for no reason. Unacceptable for the price, even if they were priced at 60€, I mean, only 3 months of life? Unacceptable, stay away
One of the best purchases I have made. At first, I was looking for the 8 again but I said let's see the 9 where in the end they turned out even better
Reading the reviews, I really wonder if you guys have tried other shoes. No offense. These specific ones are widely considered by the company itself as some of the most unsuccessful models. They took the 8, which was a decent shoe, and ruined it.
I suggest anyone who thinks it's good to try the Nimbus 25/26 to understand how an easy running shoe should be.
Steady value the Glifton. After 26 years of amateur running and having literally worn everything, for me it is perhaps the Best and most honest shoe. Lightweight, soft, with very good shock absorption. A shoe for over 800 kilometers. Of course, it is not for explosive speeds, but for many comfortable kilometers. I have worn all the Glifton shoes that have been released so far. I think the Glifton 9 is the Best of all. While they have added height, they have made it lighter and softer as needed so it is not boring.
The shoe seems to have more durability than the previous model, however it gives a heavier feeling during training, resulting in me personally having it as my last choice
Extremely athletic. I bought them for everyday use and specifically for my work. Well, the sneakers are not the best of their kind. Of course, because I happened to buy them at the same time as the ASICS NIMBUS 25, I have to say that the nimbus are far lighter and breathe better on the foot, but the Clifton has better material and I definitely won't face the problem that the asics have, which is to pierce the front part of the lining. Otherwise, I recommend it for someone who stands a lot at work and I agree with previous reviews that the foot "burns" after hours of use.
New review 29/06/2024: I tried them for running. Unfortunately, these specific sneakers are a bit "hard" and heavy. I will prefer to use them only for my work and for running I will remain faithful to asics and specifically to the NIMBUS 25 which I will definitely buy again or I may try the NIMBUS 26. Also, with light use, the sole has worn out. It is the first time I bought HOKA and probably the last.
I was very lucky to find it a few months ago for 83€ due to a coupon.
Comfort, security, appearance!!
One of my best online purchases.
Extremely. I used them in the context of rehabilitation after foot surgery and at the same time a problem in the other sole. The "break-in" was 30 minutes. Very soft to step on and very good arch support
I have loved them. For walking, running (7-10km that I do) they are perfect.
Guys, the shoes are incredible, I wear them all day at work and during my afternoon workout, which involves quite a bit of walking or running. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because they have a sensitivity in the sole, which is very soft and easily leaves marks. These shoes are recommended only for smooth surfaces and not for rough terrain, rocks, etc. I would easily buy them again without a second thought.
After wearing them for a month, the shoe is excellent for everyday use with good posture at work. Coming from Kayano 29, I have to say that the shoe has nothing to envy. As for durability, time will tell.
Very comfortable and lightweight shoes, with a soft sole and a fantastic feeling while walking. I also have the Clifton 9 GTX with Gore-Tex membrane, but in those, the sole is harder. Also, in the GTX version, their fabric doesn't open as easily, it takes more time to mold to the shape of the foot.
I have tried many sports products over time and I liked the design and colors of these specific ones. I hope they will withstand the test of time, but only time will tell. They have stability and I would say that I would prefer them again with Cairo as soon as I put them on
Fantastic shoes, not only for running but also for everyday walking as I use them. Comfortable, lightweight, and the size for me was the same as all my other shoes. They don't hurt at all. I would definitely buy them again comfortably!
For 8-10 km fast walking, they are satisfactory. Above that (15-25 km), it's something else... it lights up the leg, hits toes and heels (causing blisters and swelling when wearing expensive quality running socks). Overpriced... a fashion statement at the gym, for a walk to the café, and for shopping at stores.
Effective options are Saucony Triumph 21 or Asics Nimbus 25.
Simply Top, I use them everywhere, work, gym, walking... almost everywhere!!!
Extremely simple, I no longer change brands in sports shoes
Honestly, the best shoe I have ever worn! I found them a few months ago on sale for 75 euros and decided to give them a chance. I use them both on a daily basis and for walking/running. Don't even think about it, in my opinion. I will conclude with the word worth it!!!
The low drop combined with the rolling motion due to the geometry is of great value. Especially when walking, it feels different.
Good cushioning, quite responsive, maybe a little lacking in softness (I'm used to very soft athletic shoes that have their drawbacks too, for example, the Hoka Bondi is softer but seemed unclear to me)
The shoes are ideal for everyday training on tartan or road surfaces, lightweight and you feel like you're walking on clouds (the EVA sole has done a great job). As for the size, it's approximately the same as all the other sports shoes I wear (size 47 1/3"). They have a narrow profile and need to be worn for at least 80-100km to break them in.
Honest shoe. Lightweight, feels like walking on a "cloud" but until they "break in" and take shape, they constantly hit my little toe. Also, they hardly ventilate at all. I had bought Under Armour shoes for the same price and after a month of continuous daily use, they started to smell. These, in the first 12 hours, started to smell a lot. It's like the foot doesn't breathe. Such a shame for so much money.
First of all, I have to say that I had the previous model of the company's shoes. So when I put them on, I found a fantastic shoe for many hours of standing and walking. Compared to other brands, my previous shoes lasted me 2 years (they just wore out). I should note that I weigh 115 kilograms, so I consider it value for money when you spend 110-120€ on a shoe that lasts you 2 years.
I had the Clifton 8, I was amazed. The best for overweight people who walk 300++ per week. Until I got the Clifton 9, even lighter!!!!! and excellent fit. The old ones start to lose their shape. I can't wait for the next one....
Having in my possession the 7, which were great, and after the saucony shift2, I was torn between the mach 5 and clifton 9. I eventually chose to get these specifically for marathon training. They are quite lightweight, suitable for both long and relatively fast runs. The 5mm drop is ideal for me, as their weight has noticeably decreased and the energy return has improved significantly compared to the 7! At least for my standards. The only downside is the relatively narrow toe box. After 50km, it takes its form and this sensation is quite limiting. Now, as for the stability, Hoka remains at a very high level and even though the midsole is considered relatively outdated in terms of technology, I did not notice anything like that in any case. I got them slightly bigger than my previous ones (46 2/3), which is necessary for longer distances. The shoe is made with quality throughout, which you can directly perceive.
A very good shoe but not for everyone. During the first few workouts, due to its high and soft sole, I had discomfort in my knees. However, you get used to it after a few kilometers of training. When I get tired, I notice that due to the height of the sole, I drag them a bit. Overall, it is a durable and lightweight shoe, but as I said, it's not for everyone.
