No relation to regular all star. Better quality design and fit on the foot. The sole is soft, adds minimal height, and is a bit heavy. I wear size 42.5 and got size 42.5. They are slightly tight in the toe area but they will definitely loosen up. I was concerned that they are quite "comfortable" in the heel. They have air, meaning they are breathable
