A number with special significance for G-SHOCK. Only models with the DNA of the pioneering G-SHOCK bear this mark. The square design symbolizes the origin of G-SHOCK and expresses the tireless efforts and continuous evolution of a watch that does not break even if it falls down.
Inside the shock-resistant case is the quartz mechanism, positioned in such a way that it is almost suspended and does not have direct contact with the case. This absorbs external vibrations. The resin materials used are distinguished for their exceptional flexibility and shock-absorbing properties.
The reinforcements on the case and bezel, buttons, and dial protect the watches from impacts. The resin strap with its curved shape absorbs external shocks, safeguarding the case from them.

Honest G-Shock for its price, simple and beautiful. The dial is easy to read with a nice backlight, the strap is soft and not too long. As for the "drawbacks," the button for setting the time needs a bit more pressure to be pressed since it is more recessed compared to the others. If you have slightly thicker fingers, a toothpick can be used.
It is the cheapest and simplest G-Shock that I found. Without many extras, just the basics and of course with the guarantee that you are buying a G-Shock. Lightweight, sturdy, classic design. The best option if you want something simple and durable. I tested it in water, in the shower, etc., and it shows that it can withstand it. It has survived scratches on walls and from my dog's nails without a scratch. Overall, it is great for conservative and everyday use. The only thing I would like is a bit more brightness on the dial. When there is a lot of light, it is perfect, but in low lighting, it loses a bit and you have to adjust it to see properly. However, overall, for around 70-75€, you have a good watch, simple and of course, a G-Shock!
Comfortable and lightweight on the wrist (especially compared to a Citizen BJ2111-08E that I have, you obviously don't even feel this one). It's worth the money now that it has dropped from the previous price of 90-100. It is also waterproof for great depths, something I haven't tested yet since I bought it recently, but from what I see and hear from many people (including acquaintances), it does indeed withstand great depths without any issues (as long as you don't press the buttons underwater. This applies to all waterproof watches because the pressure increases significantly when you are at depth and press the buttons). The only downside is that, unfortunately, at such a price, the build quality is mediocre (I don't mean it can't withstand falls, because it definitely can), so scratches on the glass occur easily if it is hit forcefully somewhere (while more expensive ones usually have sapphire and don't scratch easily, like the Citizen I have).
However, with a little care, it will easily last for many years without any issues, as long as it goes for service every 2 years (when it also goes for battery replacement) because the rubber seals (double O-rings) may have worn out, potentially making it no longer waterproof. Another "downside" is that for so many years I was used to a solar-powered watch, while this one has a battery, but for its price, it's great! It was the only G-Shock that caught my attention because it has the fewest advertisements/writings on the dial. All the others have unnecessary many writings on the dial... That's also why I didn't get the solar model or any other model besides this one.
However, coming from a watch that is quite large (45-50mm), this one is quite small on my wrist (I have a wrist size of 17.7 - 18 cm). Finally, something else that attracted me to this watch is that all the others look plastic, fake, and childish (especially the huge analog G-Shocks), while this one, because it is all black and digital, is more impressive and simple to the eye and looks much nicer compared to all the others. Lastly... it looks better in person than in the photos. Buy it with your eyes closed!
Nice watch but its buttons are not very user-friendly. It is difficult to press them. Especially the top left one is almost non-existent although it has some usefulness.
Well, I highly recommend it, but if I were to suggest something, go for the GW-B5600BC-1BER if you have the money (200€, all black) or the GW-B5600-2ER (130€, not all black). It's like this one, but it has Solar Tough, Multiband 6, and Bluetooth

For timing, swimming, and at work.
It is quite durable considering that I am careless with watches.
It doesn't lose a second.
I have had it for about 1.5 years.
I have taken it for a swim in the sea regularly, up to a depth of 4-5 meters.
Very nice and elegant watch, something I did not expect due to the size of the case. It is resistant to falls, but the rubber has some wear from everyday use, which also happens with metal watches, so there is no reason to complain. It has useful functions and it is easy to use them. The screen that many describe as very dark, for me it has never been a problem in any lighting. The water resistance of the watch is also a big plus for its purchase, although I doubt if the average user will go for dives wearing it. Overall, a very good digital watch for its price, I recommend it mainly for everyday use.
For something everyday and durable, it is just what you need. Personally, I like the negative screen and I didn't notice a big difference from the regular one.
Although I don't have a big wrist, I would prefer it a little bigger, but I really like it a lot. I believe it is unbeatable for the money.

The watch is incredible, I use it for my job (sailor) and it has endured a lot of hardship and doesn't understand anything, salt, loads, dust, dirt, and many other things. For the money, I believe it is the best there is.

Unfortunately, the negative screen renders the watch useless, it feels like wearing a watch with a broken display
The classic timeless g shock! Lightweight, in reasonable dimensions and in terms of durability, words are unnecessary. I got it in black color with a black dial (5600bbn). Minimalistic, it passes almost unnoticed and can be combined with all clothes, except of course those for special occasions such as suits, etc. The only negative is that due to the black on the screen, the time is not clearly visible from side angles. At the price I got it (59€) it is simply perfect! I highly recommend it without reservation!
If it had the classic gray dial of the vintage Casio, so that you wouldn't struggle to read the time, it would simply be perfect.
First time owner of the G-Shock series and I can only say positive things about this watch!
The time is displayed clearly, the illumination is impressive, and it is relatively lightweight for its size. I expected it to be bulkier, but fortunately it is not!
The only thing for sure is that I will buy another G-Shock again
Nice Casio watch, simple, minimalist, light on the wrist.... The strap is okay, personally it doesn't bother me on the wrist. The only thing I would like is for it to have a larger screen for displaying the time instead of the black borders... Coming from Suunto, the indications seem small in size.... Other than that, the watch is fine.... As for durability, I can't have an opinion yet, as I have had it for 2 days.... The case in which the watch comes is nice (not that it plays a big role)...
Impressively clear reverse screen (it is definitely the clearest among all the black screens of digital watches that I have personally seen and I have seen several), extremely lightweight, beautifully designed, exudes a sense of solidity and quality - it looks more expensive than its price, comfortable to wear even with more formal attire, has basic functions and is quite small - I don't mind this particular aspect since I bought it as a gift for my wife, on my wrist (20.5cm) it "disappears", it looks like a children's watch and fits on the second-to-last hole :(
The difficulty in using the buttons is frustrating and ruins the image of a nice watch, so it deserves 1 star. Due to my wounded ego, because I can't bear the idea that I wasted my money, I give it 2 stars. Casio disappointed me with this model. I prefer wearing the Casio W-800H-1AV.
For the past 10 years, I have been using an Orient Ray automatic watch (about 90% of the time) and an Honor Band 5 (about 10%). I work in difficult conditions and often need to wear various types of gloves and sleeves that fit well on the wrist. I am exposed to environments with various risks (impacts, hits, water, sweat, high temperatures, etc.). Over the years, both of these watches have shown significant wear and tear (especially the poor Ray watch!). While the Honor Band is satisfactory as an activity tracker, it is not convenient as a watch (mediocre readability and the need for weekly charging).
I was looking for an inexpensive, durable watch with accurate timekeeping and no requirements for charging or adjustments. I inevitably ended up with a G-Shock, but I was always "afraid" of their monstrous size, which can be prohibitive if you want to wear gloves frequently and easily.
I chose the DW-5600BB-1ER because it has one of the slimmest profiles, is quite affordable, and has a more discreet design (I don't like the bold and colorful letters on many other G-Shock watches).
- Extremely lightweight.
- Incredibly comfortable strap. It doesn't smell from sweat, doesn't heat up, and doesn't cause any discomfort that plastic straps generally do. I feel much better wearing it (actually, I don't feel it at all!) compared to silicone straps on my other watches.
- Generally, you don't feel the watch on your hand at all. It doesn't interfere with clothing, doesn't "catch," and fits comfortably with gloves, etc.
- It hasn't lost a second in months of use.
- The illumination is satisfactory - maybe I would have liked it to last a second longer.
- The alarm sound is sufficient to wake me up.
- The time is easily readable.
- Sufficient functions for daily/mild athletic use.
- The buttons are very comfortable to use, AS LONG AS YOU LEARN HOW TO USE THEM (with a specific pressure method, you can easily find and press them, even the adjust button that doesn't protrude). They are never accidentally pressed.
- The digits on the screen are visible even with polarized glasses (many LCD screens are blocked by polarization).
Regarding how readable the negative display is, in everyday life, there is no significant difference compared to the classic positive display of other digital watches. Depending on the conditions, it may be slightly better or worse, but generally, it is easily readable during the day once you get used to it (I have watches with hands that are more difficult to read due to many small shiny surfaces).
Aesthetically, I would describe it as a relatively discreet, modern watch - although this is purely subjective. In terms of practicality (based on my needs), I consider it an extremely reliable, everyday watch. At prices around €50, it is an excellent value-for-money tool that your children will also have.
Simply a legend. Those who are interested in watches must have it in their collection.

Now, about the clarity of the screen
I can't say that it doesn't look good.
The only negative thing about the screen is that it needs a little
attention because it gets dirty. But with a drop
of Azax, it becomes like new again.
Positives:
- Truly timeless watch
- So lightweight that you forget you're wearing it
- Very good strap that molds to the shape of the wrist
Negatives:
- DARK DIAL that needs to be looked at from the right angle to see the time
- The button for adjustment requires long nails
- Only 1 alarm
- You can only hear the beep in complete silence
The only downside is the buttons, which are quite recessed, making it quite difficult to press
The buttons are quite deep, they can only be pressed with a nail. It looks nice but it's not worth it and it's not convenient in everyday life... I won't comment on the readability which is terrible in the sun and also at night. I regretted it.
I was looking at the entire range of GSHOCK for months, and I ended up with the wonderful DW5600bb.
Extremely sturdy, perfect size for wrists up to medium size, quite lightweight, and overall the quality seems so good that the watch gives the impression that it will last for many years.
It is much more beautiful up close compared to the photos, personally I consider it the most beautiful and discreet GSHOCK. I was planning to get the plain DW5600 but I chose this one because it can be worn perhaps more easily on an outing.
As for the display, it is gorgeous, but it sacrifices visibility to some extent, not excessively though. It is by no means difficult to use, but it might not be a good choice for people with poor eyesight.
I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone considering it!
Positive: Accuracy, durability against impacts (only stops if the battery runs out) and water resistance, and very beautiful.
Negative: Not at all resistant to scratches, the screen also easily becomes dull from salts and fingerprints, the time is not easily visible, it must be close to the eyes and at the right angle, I think the price would have been good below €65, I bought it for €75.
Was it possible for the legendary Casio G-Shock watch with millions of sales worldwide not to be in my collection? Very light, beautiful, reliable, it never loses a second. The clarity of its screen makes it even more beautiful, and I knew it from the beginning, and it's not a problem after all, it's a matter of taste!
A very beautiful piece from Casio, discreet and lightweight. Good construction and comfortable in the hand. Everything is good with this tool, but as other buyers emphasize, it is not always easy to read the time, but there is a nice light inside that corrects things. However, it is a discreet tool in your hand. Basic functions though and not many settings. It could be a click even better with more settings and a clearer screen.
4.0 stars then and not more.
I have it here for a year, completely satisfied. I wear it all day and everywhere and it hasn't got a single scratch.
for the Greek army and especially the basic and special forces, it is excellent. But even a simple band does the job just fine
I bought this watch for 97€ in 2017.
I enjoyed it very much....showed it off to friends to demonstrate how durable it is on walls, floors, concrete, marble, wooden floors, sand, saltwater, and various other things, all with the most "compact" gshock available on the market.
I question anything I see with an unreadable screen 100%.
It is the best value for money available, especially now!

It doesn't break, it doesn't get damaged, classic G-Shock. Convenient on the hand. If you're bothered by the plastic strap, there are bracelets and adapters for a NATO strap available at the store. I wore it in the sea, in the shower, it was washed with oil, gasoline, brake cleaner, and it can still be worn for a night out. I had no issue seeing the time clearly, neither during the day nor at night, as some have "complained" about. The only possibly negative thing is that the slightest bit of dust or fingerprints can be seen on it.
