Although it is still early (I have only had it for 48 hours), I will have the honor to make the first evaluation of the mobile on skroutz!
Positives:
+ The operating system is the cleanest Android there is. Everything works as it should, no missed notifications (unlike Xiaomi, etc.)
+ The (stereo) speaker is impressively loud
+ The photos are excellent
+ The battery life seems fine, about a day and a half with normal to heavy use, but I will come back to it because the phone learns your usage and adapts, resulting in longer battery life
Negatives:
- The fingerprint sensor doesn't always work, but it might be because of the protective membrane. I read that there are membranes that are Google Certified for this specific model, so I might get one if I see there is a problem.
- Sometimes during calls, I can hear them and they can hear me perfectly, but sometimes I notice some interruptions. I don't know if it's random, but I will observe it in the coming days and come back to it.
- The packaging does not include a charger or a 3.5 mm jack adapter
- 5G does not work in Greece, but it doesn't bother me as 4G is perfectly fine. I believe that 100+ Mbps with 4G is sufficient for the majority of the world. I have disabled 5G from the settings to save battery.
- VoLTE (at least with Cosmote) does not work (at least not yet)
- The price (I bought it for 510€) I think is high, as there is a lot of competition in the mid-range category (e.g. Poco X5 Pro, Galaxy A54, Moto G73, Realme C55, Vivo Y35, Realme GT Master Edition, etc.) If it were priced at 300€, it would be the best value for money on the market. I chose the Pixel purely because of the software, although I was very close to getting the Poco X5 Pro and installing the Pixel Experience custom ROM (I didn't do it because the stable ROM hasn't been released yet and I needed a phone urgently).
I have no opinion on:
* I haven't taken any videos yet, but I will come back to it
* I don't play games (at least not heavy ones)
UPDATE (3/7/2023 - after approximately 1 month of use):
- The battery still lasts 1-1.5 days with moderate to heavy use. I would like more (for a new phone), but I have disabled adaptive battery to avoid missing notifications.
- The fingerprint sensor works about 8 out of 10 times. You need to press your finger firmly and flat on the screen for better recognition. What I mentioned about the protective membrane still applies, but I don't plan on getting a Google certified one, at least not yet.
- Calls are crystal clear after all
- After the latest update, VoLTE works fine with Cosmote, so I can talk on the phone and be on the internet with data at the same time. 5G still doesn't work in Greece.
- I don't notice any difference with the smooth display (90Hz), so I have disabled it to save battery.
- The video quality is great, but I don't have much experience with other phones to judge.
- The more I discover the camera, the more amazed I am. It has a panorama mode where you can view the photo in 3D with a VR headset, and an astrophotography mode for capturing the night sky that is jaw-dropping.
- For headphones, I got the Samsung EO-IC100 which have a built-in DAC and work perfectly fine.
The overall impression is that I am very satisfied with the software, camera, and speaker, although I would like the battery to last 2 days and the fingerprint sensor to always work (like it used to work, for example). In the Redmi Note 5 that I had) and for this price to have 256GB of storage space.
