Skroutz Tip: For more shading, choose a fabric with high density or fabric weight to have a higher shading percentage. The weight of a fabric can exceed 300 gr/m². The higher the weight, the denser the weave, thus more shading and protection from weather conditions.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Quite good quality although it is the first time I come into contact with such a shade and I have no point of comparison.
Disadvantages:
The larger it is, the more it sags in the middle (you can't stretch it all the way because you don't know the limit, so you don't know when it will stay in your hand).
It is perforated but with very small holes and the rainwater doesn't drain quickly, resulting in a larger sag.
The fabric gets wet even in light rain as if it is wool, making it even heavier.
A decent shade for its price (satisfactory surface for a car).
You give it a steep slope (when we say steep, we mean steep) on one side so that the rainwater slides off or you run and collect it when it starts drizzling.
It provides good shade for the money it asks for and cuts a lot of heat (from the car). If I leave the front windows slightly open, I can enter the car at midday in July without getting heatstroke.
The rope it comes with is of poor quality, so you need to get your own (with minimal cost).
For wall supports and tensioners, calculate around 15 euros.
If you want to raise it to a height, you need iron. I used 40 x 40 x 2 mm thickness. Around 15 euros for 4 meters. I had a welding machine and I attached it to the fence of the shed (it helped me a lot). Generally, if the walls and the shed of your house don't suit you and you need to buy a lot of iron, the additional cost can easily exceed fifty euros.
In strong wind, you can't hear anything.
These are my observations after 2 weeks of use.
UPDATE 17/7
After a month, everything is fine.
During a short rain shower that I wasn't home to collect it (it was still raining), it let in a considerable amount of water from the center (it sagged quite a bit).
The positive thing is that it hasn't loosened at all (when it dries after rain, it returns to its original shape, eliminating the sag) and I haven't tightened the tensioners at all.
As we said, it doesn't make any noise in the wind.
There are bird droppings that can be seen from below like stains, but they are not easy to clean.
Once summer is over, unless something unexpected happens, it will be washed in the washing machine and stored.
If I notice anything unusual, I will update.
If it withstands the entire summer, it will be worth the money.
The evaluation was based on the purchase price. At around 30 euros, it is ridiculous to expect the shade to be equivalent to a roof. It cuts enough heat so that you can enter the car at reasonable temperatures. It's not meant for setting up a table and having your coffee in the midday heat.
UPDATE 12/9
It's almost three months and everything is fine. The fabric and the rings are in excellent condition. I tried putting it in a 7 kg washing machine, but it got stuck. So I spread it on the courtyard floor and secured it with a rubber band. The bird droppings came off easily as they had dried. It was collected and stored.
To be honest, I didn't expect it to last the whole summer without any losses, not so much due to rain but due to wind.
It has earned back its cost, and God willing, we'll have another summer with it.
UPDATE 20/5
So, it's the second summer. It was taken out of storage and installed exactly as last year.
It is intact. I have the impression that we will make it through this summer as well unless something drastic happens. I will keep you updated.
WARNING: When there is a lot of wind (above approximately 4 on the Beaufort scale, if I can estimate), the fabric sways quite a bit. It can go up to about 40 to 50 pounds above or below the resting position. In my case, I appreciate that it happens because I have put over 1 meter of rope from both ends and it has enough tolerance. I cannot stretch it further because I am afraid it might tear. Of course, nothing has happened as I have mentioned. However, I say this to leave enough space from the car roof. This is because most cars have the antenna on the roof and if there is not enough space, the swinging can puncture the fabric. And then it will come off like a sweater!
In the diploma, around 2.5 meters wide and throughout the length, it had holes. Personally, I took it to a tent and had it cut to the 2 meters width I wanted, so I didn't return it. The rope inside is a joke, you can't do anything with it. I had to improvise where I put it.
"It's not 'shading' bad as it is written, it doesn't make shade, it slightly cuts the sun more decorative it is."
Very durable!!! Personally, I wanted the light to pass through, so it is exactly what I was asking for. However, if you want complete shading, it is better not to choose it.
The dimensions are not the ones mentioned. It is 3.50X5 fully stretched. I bought it for a car parking space of 3.30X6m and it was empty!
So far, it's going very well. Dimensions are 4x3 meters.
Buy it without fear.
I disagree with the price. It should be worth 15 to 20 euros because it's all plastic canvas. It doesn't have any cotton at all.
The ropes that it had were slipping, so I had to use other ropes. Furthermore, when I put them on, I realized that they had a "dent" in the center, which, with my simple logic, means that they had already been used quite a bit and had received a lot of vertical air pressure. In hindsight, I realized that it may mean that it needs to be installed flat and not tilted. Also, the material is shiny and therefore attracts solar radiation, which is the worst thing for a shading cloth. A better name would be greenhouse cloth... However, all this testing was at the expense of my pocket because the product is now non-returnable... The conclusions are yours, but for God's sake, do not buy it for shading cloth... Good morning
It looks very durable, just like its hooks, and the shading is very good. For its price, it's great.
In a space of 5x6, possibly the best value for money (VFM) to have 80% shade, with temperatures of 35°, you can sit comfortably underneath and not feel the slightest discomfort from the sun. It was recently tested in heavy rain and strong wind, and it didn't even notice. The only thing that the product lacks is not related to the quality of the fabric but to the rope that comes with it, it is funny in both quality and length. Obviously, a stronger and longer rope was purchased. Other than that, I consider it to be one of the best purchases you can make for easy shading
The cloth has provided very good shade and is quite durable. And mine had a hole in a certain spot, towards the center, but it wasn't bothersome nor did it open further. In rain, there is a problem because water doesn't easily pass through, so it needs to be placed at an angle. The rope in the packaging... a joke, for the tightening and stretching that is needed, another one was purchased. It should also have at least two more holes around the perimeter for tying.
Friends, it doesn't block 90% of the sun, at most it's 60%!! So you get burned underneath, the sun hits you as if you have a useless beach umbrella. Completely useless for the Greek sun, it might be useful in England...
The only good thing is that the fabric is slightly stronger than the other cheap ones... but even that is of poor quality.
Quite good, I would say. I have had it for a month now and it has held up well in the air. It has a good shelf and durable handles
Very good shade and beautiful.
Its application is very easy and it blends quickly if needed.
