It was purchased to be used in a frigate NVR with coral.ai TPU. The camera has very good image quality, but it has some issues that, from what I understand, are common with Dahua cameras in general and not specific to this model.
I have a NAS and I want to record 24/7 on it. It has the option to select NAS in the menu, I enter the IP and shared folder, but it doesn't ask me for a username/password anywhere!
I can't imagine a scenario where I would create a folder without any protection, even the minimum that the user/pass provides!
I have been trying to find support from Dahua for 3 days now (at the time of writing this review, it will have a future date), but they haven't activated my account yet. However, after a lot of searching, I found an email where I wrote them about 2 issues I have (the one with the NAS and another one where it didn't give me an RTSP feed on VLC and therefore on frigate). Their technician (Karl B.) replied to me saying, "In relation to your second question regarding the use of synololgy Nas drive, our advise here is not to use a synlology drive as they have no overwrite abilities so as soon as your HDD fills up it will simply stop recording footage."
Okay, I understand that there might be an issue, but I can go in and delete data myself after, let's say, a month. Telling me not to do it and not offering any help is extremely unprofessional and wrong in my opinion.
Since I solved the issue with the RTSP feed and integrated it into frigate, I am satisfied and will purchase a few more in the future
