  A wonderful game that honors the game that inspired it (Bloodborne) in the best way possible. Oscar-worthy adaptation of a classic fairytale in my opinion, transformed into a darker version!
  Positives: The combat system and world are amazing, the story as well. I liked the changes to the blades and handles, and all the usable items are very unique.
  Negatives: (always compared to the beloved Bloodborne, as a standalone game it is exceptional) the world is relatively linear, and the shortcuts are good but never made me go "wow," it's good that I can navigate like in the labyrinths of BB, also it's not as dark and that feeling of "death lurking around every corner" is missing.
  In my humble opinion, it is truly a wonderful game that I thoroughly enjoyed. I can't wait for DLC, etc.
  I hope a Bloodborne 2 will be released as well

  Overall, a fantastic souls-like game that kept me engaged from beginning to end. Amazing music and scenery, and a very original storyline. The combat is great, with nice changes throughout, and the level design is very well-crafted. Personally, I am on my third playthrough (150+ hours) and haven't encountered a single bug. Highly recommended 100%

  Lies of P is a Souls-like game. That means it is an incredibly difficult game with an emphasis on losing your resources when you die and having a chance to retrieve them at the point where you died.

  The story is based on a steampunk version of the Pinocchio novel. It takes place in the city of Krat, which underwent a major industrial revolution thanks to the robotic dolls of the famous Jeppetto. However, the city was recently destroyed by a sudden epidemic that caused all the dolls to attack humans. You control the familiar doll of Jeppetto, who wakes up after the events and is uniquely made to have free will from the start, and most importantly, to be able to tell lies.

  The game follows the logic of Dark Souls, where you must find the next Stargazer (Bonfire) and open shortcuts to traverse the area faster each time you die. The combat focuses more on defense, as dodging is not as effective as in other Souls-like games, and it is advantageous to frequently parry. However, it has a terrifying weapon customization system, where you can put any weapon on any handle and combine their speeds, range, and skills.

  The world and the game are large, but unlike Dark Souls, it is linear, with few instances where you can return to old areas to find something new. It is very beautiful, but its secrets are limited to rooms and objects, rather than entire areas and bosses like in Dark Souls. You feel that the story guides you, rather than exploration.

  The multiplayer is (for now) non-existent, and the only help you can find for bosses is an NPC who can come to assist you only for the battle. Fortunately, the game does not seem to have major secrets that require the help of the community to discover.

  Of all the Souls-like games, this one comes closest to the series that inspired it, and it has already started receiving patches and DLC.
  • The difficult enemies that resemble mini bosses offer fantastic upgrades and it is good to kill them. They do not respawn, and if they are in your way, it is good if you can avoid them because they are typically placed just before the next shortcut or Stargaiser.

  After 80+ hours in the game and as a fairly to very experienced player in Soulslike games, I have the following to add:

  It is the only game outside of Fromsoftware that can give you something very close to the unique and very difficult to replicate experiences that Fromsoftware games have shown in the past.

  Amazing atmosphere, incredible graphics, fantastic gameplay, a nice story that narrates the tale of Pinocchio in a different, darker, and closer to reality way. It falls a bit short in terms of lore compared to the soulborne games, but that doesn't bother us, if anything, it shows.

  The only flaw that I consider very significant in the game is its immense difficulty. I am a player who has over 10,000 hours in soulborne games, with 0 hit runs in most of them, but the difficulty I encountered in Lies of P is something I have never encountered anywhere else. From a certain point onwards, all the bosses have 2 phases with huge health pools. While there are ways to make the path to victory easier with various tools like summoning and throwables, if you want to complete the game 100% "fairly," it is something extremely difficult and can tire many players, resulting in them giving up halfway. That's it :)

  An excellent game... it is fantastic on all levels. Its gameplay offers plenty of variety and as you progress, it gives you countless opportunities to face each boss... the difficulty is similar to that of the Souls games, however, I find it more manageable. The only negative for me was the parry, which I couldn't figure out how to do correctly, even though I constantly used it in the Souls games and other Souls-like games like Wo Long, for example.
  The music is reminiscent of Bloodborne... the lore is quite interesting and overall, you'll need about 50 hours for a non-rushed playthrough.
  For me, it's my favorite Souls-like game, and we're talking about someone who has defeated every boss in the Souls games and Elden Ring

  A game that is worth every last euro. Very nice graphics, very good controls, and from what I saw, it takes several hours to complete. For someone like me who is not a big fan of this genre, I mean, what I mean is that you die and lose everything and start again from the beginning, this is something that I don't have the patience to continue.   Undoubtedly an underrated release that should not go unnoticed as the world awaits big releases like Spider-Man 2 later this month. From what I know, the studio that developed the game is new to the industry, and I openly declare that I am very satisfied with the game. Inspired by the platinum trophy I achieved in the Xbox Game Pass a few minutes ago, I decided to share my thoughts as I have done with every Souls-like game so far and provide my corresponding review. After 50+ hours in the game, I want to assure you that it is not a cheap imitation of Bloodborne as it may sound. Lies of P has its own character. It may not have the deep lore of Bloodborne or the level design of a FromSoftware title, but it certainly does not disappoint. The mechanics are similar to classic Souls-like controls (parry, hit, dodge, charge attack, jump), with the difference being the addition of a mechanical arm (Legion Arm) that can be compared to Wolf's prosthetic arm in Sekiro. It serves different purposes in the game, offering mobility, defense, or attribute damage. The game has a proper story with cutscenes. There is no gear system, and the protagonist does not wear heavy armor or any kind of overpowered gear to make you feel like a tank. Any costumes present are purely cosmetic. We are talking about a reinterpretation of the classic Pinocchio fairy tale by Carlo Collodi, which is not a traditional fairy tale world as it contains elements of harsh reality that the game flawlessly incorporates, along with its characters. In my opinion, the selling point of the game was the lie system promised in the trailers. Yes, it exists, and you will be faced with dialogue choices that will affect the game's ending. But it doesn't stop there. A pleasant surprise for me was the record player in the game's central hub, where you can listen to vinyl records collected throughout the world of Lies of P. Each time you listen to a piece (aside from the fact that the game's music is very good), it makes you feel more "human" because listening to music is a human experience, just like deceiving others. There are several such details that go beyond this mechanic and are not limited to dialogues. In conclusion, the game is exceptional in all its aspects. I encountered only one major bug in the final boss of the game during one of the three playthroughs and 1-2 crashes, which is normal. With reasonable expectations, this game, which is available for "free" on Game Pass, can provide a great time, especially for Souls fans like myself. It is, in my opinion, the best non-FromSoftware Souls-like game overall (with the exception of Nioh's combat system). Invest without fear, or else you'll miss out. See you in the Elden Ring DLC.
