Very beautiful board game with nice artwork and components although they are not the highest quality, mainly the cards, they bend very easily even though they are sleeved from the beginning. I have played 4 times mainly solo and one more time with friends and I have never managed to win, only once we managed to get very close. It depends a lot on the luck of the dice and somehow on the moves you will make. Overall, it is a nice light game in the lore of LOTR and can be played with people who are not familiar with board games and with people who do not want something "heavy" to play, as well as our little friends can participate since the game is not particularly difficult.
The game is well-crafted with exceptional artwork (not only on the board but also on the cards). It is fast-paced with easy rules (the Kosmos app shows all stages meticulously for those who do not want to read the rules). Certainly, the dependency on dice increases randomness compared to strategy, but careful use of companions (cards with a green symbol) will give a great advantage. The use of certain cards (even bad cards can be beneficial) is important for the progress of the game. They have found a clever way to utilize the disappearance of Gandalf, the death of Boromir, and the appearance of the Ents. Feel free to try it with children aged 7 and up
Experience after 3 sessions.
-The goal is to move the members of the fellowship of the ring in the best possible way so that Frodo and Sam can safely reach Mount Doom.
-Particularly thematic, especially if the soundtrack of each area is playing in the background. \m/
-Although it has a strategic margin, it relies heavily on the luck of the dice and it seems that the game is against you with how easily 2 wrong rolls can destroy you. We still haven't lost hope that we will reach the destination as winners once.
-It is cooperative and at the same time independent of the number of players. Each round has the same goal and depends only on the position of the characters at that moment. So a new player can easily join in the middle of the game.
-The cards are not particularly well-made. They started to wear out from the 1st session, possibly due to humidity.
