Self-sabotaging behaviors are one of the most common reasons we resist any attempt at change. However, if we become aware of our destructive habits and enhance our emotional intelligence, we can rid ourselves of remnants from past experiences, love the best version of ourselves, and act accordingly, ceasing to stand in our own way and achieving our goals.
For centuries, the image of the mountain has been used as a metaphor for all the great challenges we face, especially those we consider impossible to overcome. To climb our mountain, we essentially need to identify our internal trauma, bring it to the surface, become more resilient, and appropriately adjust the techniques for our ascent.
In the end, we will not have conquered the mountain, but we will have mastered ourselves.
