After extensive use of my old Zowie XL2546, I decided to upgrade to the renewed XL2546K. First of all, this monitor is aimed at professional gamers. The changes I noticed compared to my old model are as follows:
- The stand. The stand of the XL2546K is much smaller than my old monitor. For some people who have the monitor close to them, it is very useful so as not to "hit" their other peripherals. Personally, I find it useless because I don't play with the monitor very close to me.
- New and improved menu. The menu is now even easier than before. It has many options such as Black Equalizer, Color Vibrance, etc. This gives us the opportunity to customize the colors of the screen, to spot opponents more easily, and to have a more enjoyable gameplay. It is worth mentioning that with the new model, you can share your screen settings through the Zowie website, as well as find settings from others accordingly.
- DyAc+. One of the main reasons why I believe Zowie has the best options in terms of monitors on the market is the combination of high Refresh Rate [Hz], 0.5 ms response time, and DyAc technology. If you adjust your settings, the screen actually becomes better than 360hz. [There is also a video by RocketJumpNinja that proves it]
- Build quality. I don't have much to say about this aspect, honestly, very good quality.
Overall, one of the best, maybe even the best monitor on the market. Some of its negatives are as follows:
- TN Panel. Obviously, the colors are not the best on the market, but for a TN Panel and with a little tuning, they are perfect. Still, obviously a bad choice for someone who wants it for editing.
- This is clearly a personal opinion, but I put it in the negatives because I believe that the majority thinks so. The design, the bezels are "thick" and some people may not like it at all. Personally, I prefer it more than the overly gaming/future-looking design.
- It annoyed me a little that they removed the holder for the setting system on the stand and now I have to leave it hanging, but these are minor things.
Would I recommend it to someone who plays for hours? Definitely, especially for those who play FPS games. Otherwise, there are cheaper options out there.
Whatever I say is not enough. If you search on forums, rtings, and blurbusters, you will see why it is considered the best e-sports gaming monitor. I had bought the AW2521HF and the AG273QZ. I mainly play FPS games. I was not satisfied with those monitors and ended up with the 2546K. The difference in response times, clarity, sharpness, and image quality was like day and night. If you don't see the monitor up close, you won't understand. Warzone at 1080p looks like you're playing in 2K, the monitor has such good sharpness. As for what they say about colors (I have a 4K Samsung VA QLED as a second monitor), I played around with the settings recommended on rtings and the image is incredible. I will never go to another brand for monitors.
