Description

"I am a child of the priests," said Lacan. Educated by the brothers of the Order of Mary, he was a devout child and acquired significant, inner knowledge of the trials and tricks of Christian spirituality. He also knew how to speak wonderfully to the Catholics and familiarize them with psychoanalysis. The Society of Jesus bet on his School.
Freud, drawing his optimism from the Enlightenment, believed that religion was nothing but an illusion that the progress of scientific spirit would dissolve in the future. Lacan did not believe it at all. On the contrary, he considered that true religion, Roman Catholicism, would ultimately deceive everyone by placing meaning with the ladle in the real that science would make increasingly persistent, more unbearable.

Jacques-Alain Miller

The two sections of this book belong to Lacan's oral work (unpublished until today) and are part of the collection "Lacan's Paradoxes," a title chosen by Jacques-Alain Miller.

The "Address to the Catholics" includes two lectures given on March 9 and 10, 1960 in Brussels, following an invitation from the Saint-Louis University School and were announced as "public lessons."

The "Triumph of Religion" comes from a "press interview" that took place in Rome on October 29, 1974 at the French Institute on the occasion of a conference. Lacan answered questions from Italian journalists.

The first book in the collection released in Greek is "My Teaching," while "The Individual Myth of the Neurotic" and "I Speak to the Walls" are being prepared.
The "Paradoxes" belong to the series of Ekremes editions "Lacanian Orientation."
In this series, the following books are also available:
- "Function and Field of Speech and Language in Psychoanalysis" by Jacques Lacan
- "Lacan and Psychoanalysis" by Jacques-Alain Miller
- "Theory of Psychoanalytic Therapy" by Jacques-Alain Miller
Being prepared:
- The eighth seminar of Jacques Lacan
- The Autistic and His Voice by Jean-Claude Maleval
- The Other Clinical Practice - Psychoanalysis and the Nursing Home by Alfredo Zenoni
