The new Xiaomi camera, I bought 2 pieces to put in the countryside for the winter months when everyone is away from home. I bought them for their very good night shooting, as I saw from reviews and video reviews on foreign sites. It will also help a lot with the AI human technology it has, so that it doesn't spam me with notifications every time a leaf moves, as it will be placed on the balcony. I have already connected it to the Type C port with the detachable cable it has, I connected it directly to the router at home to see that they work perfectly, and next week they will be permanently installed. Night shooting photos will be uploaded again. 10/10
I bought 2 pieces, easy installation, good build quality, very good image day and night. The only negative so far is that the person detection does not work properly. I set it to high sensitivity and still it does not always detect human movements in the area. Finally, the package only includes the charging cable and two screws for wall mounting. After a while, it requires a subscription, so if you don't subscribe, the camera will only work in live streaming or manual playback. Inability to connect, after many hours I managed to connect it.....the memory card is not working, I changed many to find which one will work.
I had to do a reset, that was unable to connect.....there is a software issue regarding the camera's connection with the application.
Excellent camera for its price. Good image quality day and night. Small size so it can stay hidden in many places. Good WiFi signal. On the negative side are the notifications, which do not have many customization options (constant notifications for shadows, leaf movement, etc.) and the minimum trigger every 3 minutes and the few seconds of recording of the notification. Of course, you can search for it on the SD card. Nevertheless, for 20 - 25 euros it is the best option for outdoor use.
It was purchased solely for its small size (with coverage not visible in a deserted location). The very good image day and night, or the quite satisfactory connectivity with wifi from a distance of 12 meters, are elements of good construction, but that's it. It is not enough to use it only in online mode, as within a period of 14 days it ceases to be free, as it requires registration and monthly subscription to xiaomi home secure, to send notifications & store, while it no longer allows recording even on the SD card as it does not even recognize it, even after formatting! It has been rebooted and reset to the difficult(!) setup, but it leaves a margin of 14 days and the same issues again. Unacceptable for such a company to not give the user the choice, depriving them of the obvious! For me, it is a foul and I would not buy a xiaomi camera again under such conditions.
Good camera only for live viewing. My problem is that the free 9-second cloud recording on the European server provided by Xiaomi cameras was only given to me for 3 months, while on older cheaper Xiaomi cameras that are 3 years old, I still have it. Of course, it writes to the SD card, but when it cuts off your free 9 seconds, it also cuts off person recognition, so the notifications are useless (they come every 3 minutes because something is always moving due to the wind) in the meantime, if someone enters the space, you missed it. (It does not come with a charger, only a cable).
It needs a reasonable distance from the modem/router to work smoothly.... don't expect it to cover the Wi-Fi connection as well as a mobile phone could.
In the indoor monitoring sector, you need to change the settings and adjust it to your needs, how many times you want to be notified when it detects motion, with sound or without, etc. I activate it when I'm away on vacation, it doesn't have free cloud recording, it saves to the SD card.
The main negative for my needs is that the two-way communication is average. I haven't tried it outdoors, for the price it obviously gets a big yes, I'm waiting to see its durability over time.
Easy installation, good image day and night, AI not so good and when Xiaomi subscription end the notifications are really bad. At 1080, it doesn't show real time. Definitely good for the money.
