  I bought them mainly because of the plantar fasciitis that has been bothering me for 6-7 months. According to the orthopedist, a good pair of athletic shoes would help me a lot because the previous ones seemed to burden me quite a bit.

  My physiotherapist suggested that I try 3 running shoes. The Clifton 9, the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3, and the Brooks Glycerin.

  I tried the Clifton 9 and since the other two were not available in my size that day, and I liked how they felt, I bought them and wore them right away. After about half an hour of walking, I started to have intense discomfort (almost pain) in my right arch, and it was starting to bother my left arch as well. I also read the reviews here and on Reddit about many cases of the same problem and realized that in a flat arch like mine, it puts a lot of pressure on the arch. Overall, it seems to be a really good shoe with a good sole, so if you don't have a flat arch, it might be perfect, otherwise, you should try it out a bit.

  In the end, I returned them and bought the Brooks Glycerin, which really suited me very well.

  It's not a hidden gem, it's a disappointment. So many positive reviews, maybe from users in the first week, but it can't be explained otherwise. After 3 months, there are tears on the sides and back inside the heel. The bottom looks like I've had them for 2 years, excessive wear for no reason. Unacceptable for the price, even if they were priced at 60€, I mean, only 3 months of life? Unacceptable, stay away

  Steady value the Glifton. After 26 years of amateur running and having literally worn everything, for me it is perhaps the Best and most honest shoe. Lightweight, soft, with very good shock absorption. A shoe for over 800 kilometers. Of course, it is not for explosive speeds, but for many comfortable kilometers. I have worn all the Glifton shoes that have been released so far. I think the Glifton 9 is the Best of all. While they have added height, they have made it lighter and softer as needed so it is not boring.

  Extremely athletic. I bought them for everyday use and specifically for my work. Well, the sneakers are not the best of their kind. Of course, because I happened to buy them at the same time as the ASICS NIMBUS 25, I have to say that the nimbus are far lighter and breathe better on the foot, but the Clifton has better material and I definitely won't face the problem that the asics have, which is to pierce the front part of the lining. Otherwise, I recommend it for someone who stands a lot at work and I agree with previous reviews that the foot "burns" after hours of use.
  New review 29/06/2024: I tried them for running. Unfortunately, these specific sneakers are a bit "hard" and heavy. I will prefer to use them only for my work and for running I will remain faithful to asics and specifically to the NIMBUS 25 which I will definitely buy again or I may try the NIMBUS 26. Also, with light use, the sole has worn out. It is the first time I bought HOKA and probably the last.

  Coming from a cement slab shoe (Asics Nimbus 24), I discovered that it is not a coincidence that this particular shoe gathers so many good reviews. I have been training for a 10k, running for about a month now, and I have already shaved off about 40 seconds from my time. It is a lightweight shoe, incredibly comfortable, I don't feel any road irregularities, it provides a stable footing, and it doesn't let the muscles around my calf suffer from continuous vibrations (which is very important for me as I am overweight). If someone does surges (sprints) there, they may not have a sense of foot strike and speed, but if that is just a part of their training, it can be managed. After all, they are distance shoes. The only downside might be that it doesn't breathe as well, and it might be a bit challenging in the summer. As for durability and wear over time, especially for running shoes, they last up to 550-600 kilometers in total, after that everything inside the sole (midsole, etc.) starts to wear out, and no matter what kind of shoe it is, it needs replacement. So, for someone who runs regularly, we are talking about durability of up to a year, regardless of external wear.

  Guys, the shoes are incredible, I wear them all day at work and during my afternoon workout, which involves quite a bit of walking or running. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because they have a sensitivity in the sole, which is very soft and easily leaves marks.   For 8-10 km fast walking, they are satisfactory. Above that (15-25 km), it's something else... it lights up the leg, hits toes and heels (causing blisters and swelling when wearing expensive quality running socks). Overpriced... a fashion statement at the gym, for a walk to the café, and for shopping at stores.
  Effective options are Saucony Triumph 21 or Asics Nimbus 25.

  I was given this specific athletic shoe as a gift, and after wearing it for only two months for walking, as I had another training shoe, I decided to try it out. Compared to the 8, they improved the area that hits your arch, so we're talking about progress. It is incredibly lightweight and comfortable, and for slow runs, it is stable and has enough cushioning. When I tested it by applying pressure, it responded better than other similar models, maybe due to its weight. However, it has a limit and won't help you more beyond that. So, for everyday runs or light and long runs, it is definitely recommended. For interval races, if you want something more, you should go for other models that are now abundant in all brands. One negative aspect is definitely the wear on the outsole. I uploaded the photo to show how it has worn out on the left heel of the Clifton after 500 km, compared to the glycerin after 1000 km. Okay, maybe I am comparing the most sensitive with the most durable model, but it is a serious factor. It is worth noting that the Hoka still feels fresh, while the glycerin fades away. It has a low drop, which is rare, and a reasonable price, especially now that everything is expensive. Of course, it lacks durability, but it is definitely worth it for what it offers. We can't have it all.

  Something I noticed afterwards is the difference in heart rate. The shoe makes it difficult to maintain a fast pace, and this is evident immediately. To write this, I intentionally tested it on the same terrain with similar paces, and with the Clifton, my heart rate was at least 10 beats higher. I don't know if it's due to the shoe's geometry or the absence of a plate, even a nylon one. The other two models are the On Cloud Eclipse and the Endorphin Speed 3.

  Having in my possession the 7, which were great, and after the saucony shift2, I was torn between the mach 5 and clifton 9. I eventually chose to get these specifically for marathon training. They are quite lightweight, suitable for both long and relatively fast runs. The 5mm drop is ideal for me, as their weight has noticeably decreased and the energy return has improved significantly compared to the 7! At least for my standards. The only downside is the relatively narrow toe box. After 50km, it takes its form and this sensation is quite limiting. Now, as for the stability, Hoka remains at a very high level and even though the midsole is considered relatively outdated in terms of technology, I did not notice anything like that in any case. I got them slightly bigger than my previous ones (46 2/3), which is necessary for longer distances. The shoe is made with quality throughout, which you can directly perceive.

  When I wore them, I understood...
  1. Excellent fit on the foot.
  2. Very good grip on the ground (asphalt).
  3. They didn't hurt me in the arch or heel.
  4. When you walk, it feels like you're wearing cushions.
  5. When running (I use them for a 10 km distance on asphalt), they swallow the kilometers without you realizing anything.
  6. On the first use, I improved my time by 25 seconds per kilometer without even realizing it.
