Plastic on the dial and not crystal. I bought it in 2010 for 50€ and changed the battery for the first time last year. Unfortunately, if you want something more beautiful or the next option solar tough is close to 200€.
I have had it since February 2016. There are three negatives about it.
1. The strap dried out several times and would break.
2. The screen scratches easily because it is plain plastic.
3. The lighting is NOT illuminator. The photo with the blue lighting is fake and deceiving. It has the simple (annoying) yellow light that digital watches had in the '80s. The store told me that all solar Casio watches have this type of light for cost-saving reasons. As I searched (back in 2016) on the internet and in stores, it is indeed true.
Update 11-7-2024
The watch is still holding up. I have noticed that it gains 1.5 minutes per year. I used to change the strap every year because it would dry out, but this year I switched to a black metal one and I am satisfied.
Regarding the light, there are now Casio solar watches with blue lighting, but they are much more expensive than this one.
Lastly, the battery has consistent performance and is constantly on High! If I remember correctly, it has only dropped to Medium once during a winter.
Overall, I am satisfied. I have a simple watch that has lasted for so many years, showing me the time without needing a battery change.
3 stars for the misleading photo.
Excellent, with many functions but after 4 years the front glass has scratched. It has been very helpful to me and I use it daily. (Purchase price 42 Euros) It is worth 300% of its money!
I have had it for 8 years and it has not disappointed me in anything. Its great advantage is that it does not have a battery due to the Solar Energy Collector.
Clear indications, many functions, strong alarm clock, vintage light bulb brightness, fully waterproof.
The only downside is that it has scratches on the screen due to my carelessness in my work.
I highly recommend it.
I bought it a month ago. The watch is stylish, with a good variety of functions and a reasonable price. Satisfied.
