Description

The Vega 5P by Camping Plus by Terra is a 5-person tent with a single layer, two entrances, and roof ventilation. The tent features an outer fabric that offers 96% UV protection from the harmful rays of the sun (UPF30+). It is equipped with heat-sealed seams. It has two large entrances with protected double zippers and mesh and roof ventilation with protective fabric. Additionally, the tent has perimeter slots with ropes for extra securing the tent to the ground. Inside, you will find storage pockets. Finally, the tent comes with a zippered carrying bag, hand straps, and instructions for use.

What does the waterproof rating on camping tents indicate?

Waterproofing in a tent shows us how much water the outer fabric can repel. It is measured in millimeters (mm) and refers to how many millimeters of vertical water column (and therefore pressure) a square centimeter of fabric can withstand without being penetrated by water.

The higher the degree of waterproofing, the less breathable the fabric is, and therefore the warmer the tent. Common waterproofing values range from 500mm to 10000mm. Theoretically, any fabric with waterproofing >1000mm is considered waterproof. For example, a summer tent may have waterproofing from 500 to 1500mm.

The frame made of fiberglass is a common choice for the construction of camping tents. It is a lightweight and durable material, made from fiberglass fibers that are usually coated with polyester to protect them from water and moisture.

    The floor tore at the corner during the first setup, the doors are completely awkward the way they open, very cheap materials for 90 euros. I do not recommend it - wasted money. With the previous tent, we had it for 10 years. We threw this one away after 6 days.
