Recommended for Huawei smartphone users. I have no opinion on Android. For iOS, it's annoying that I can't have the appgallery...
Negatives:
- The strap is slightly hard for my wrist, but I hope it will soften with use. It might be borderline for thicker wrists. However, there are plenty of cheap aftermarket options...
- Bluetooth cannot be turned off, it goes into sleep mode
- Due to using an iPhone, I cannot install the appgallery on HuaweiHealth and therefore cannot install additional apps.
- I would like to have floor counting, elevation tracking.
- I don't have navigation because I can't download the corresponding app (due to iOS).
- It reads incoming messages, Mail, Viber, etc., but does not display images and does not respond like some other smartphones might.
Positives:
- Freebuds 4 included as a gift.
- Premium construction.
- Detection of arterial elasticity.
- Electrocardiogram.
- Oximeter.
- Easy-to-read screen, with plenty of watchfaces and the ability to purchase more.
- GPS locked in 10 seconds on first use, while another professional athlete watch (3 years old) took about a minute!
- Many sports functions.
- Measurements such as meters, steps, etc. appear accurate compared to the professional one I compared it to.
- Very detailed sleep tracking with many suggestions for improvement.
- Very good speaker for both music and calls. Also, the microphone is very good. I spoke with a helmet on a motorcycle and the conversation was perfect!
- Does not bother you and connects in two seconds with iPhone.
- Very good that you can see who is calling you and if you want to, you can answer and talk as if you opened your phone.
- Has speaker-microphone drying in case it gets wet!
- Has device tracking (phone and watch) from the phone.
- With all sensors open (heart rate, stress monitoring, sleep tracking, pedometer, etc.) and significant use (not idle), it has 10 days of battery life and is at 8%, and it is possible that the 14 days mentioned can be achieved with all monitoring sensors closed. I assume that 9-10 days will be the standard usage time.
If someone wants it for the sea and for all those "happy" things they show in the promo video, they should think again. 3 times out of 11 meters, it let in water. The back and forth process at the service center takes about 20+ days. With countless calls to Huawei, no progress was made, nor do they want to admit that their device does not meet the specification they mention.
Update: 4th replacement device and this one also got water in.
I have had it since February 23rd, before it stopped working and wouldn't turn on even when charging. I sent it to the service center and after a while they fixed it (new battery and I don't know what else). It hasn't even been 8 months and the same thing happened again, I will send it back again!! Disappointing!!! I kept the GT2 pro for 2 years and even took it for a swim in the sea, no problem! It's not worth the money I paid!!
I have had it for over 1 year with continuous daily use and I am completely satisfied. Good measurements, strong battery. The only downside is that the Huawei store needs to be installed for full use and customization, which is not enough to lose even half a star for me.
Beautiful! Great variety of watchfaces. Great autonomy. Value for money... in my opinion far better than the newer gt 4... The titanium bracelet is beautiful and makes it overall lighter (103 gr in total) compared to those using stainless steel (see GT4). A real gem.
Premium construction, very long battery life with all apps open and continuous connection with the mobile (nova 9), and a beautiful distinct display. On the downside, it does not support contactless payments in Greece, despite the watch having NFC.
The version with the titanium bracelet is beautiful! The measurements are excellent. I wear it daily under the shower (not in the sea) without any problem. If you set up the modded health app from Huawei (only for Android) you have access to even more watch faces or even create your own through the Huawei Editor... The only thing that bothers me is that the vibration is not strong enough...
A very nice smartwatch that can help every athlete track their performance. The only negative thing I would say is that to get an accurate measurement, you have to tie it in the right place for better heart rate accuracy. Maybe the only negative would be that with the heart rate accuracy otherwise I would give it 5 stars. Maybe with a fabric strap the problem could be fixed.
Very good build quality. It has many functions for its price. It leaked water, but they replaced it for me very quickly. The service was very helpful and I had it repaired under warranty within a week.
The worst purchase!!! I bought it at the end of October and within 5 days the touchscreen wasn't working. They told me it was a software issue and after about 1 month in service, they replaced it for me. In two months, the second watch had the same problem!!! I will take it to service on Monday and we'll see... They returned it to me after 10 days, after they changed the screen, battery, and I don't know what else. Result? Within three days, the watch stopped working, it died, it doesn't charge, it doesn't do anything. Of course, I will ask for a refund and I will never approach HUAWEI again!!!!
One year later and with careful use, I noticed scratches on the case (it says it's made of titanium). The warranty doesn't cover it, of course, and for a replacement case with a screen included, it costs 180 euros... Shouldn't I just buy a new one? Should I go back to Samsung but have to charge it every day?
Really great piece of jewelry. I always used to make fun of gadgets like this, like many others, and I didn't understand their usefulness! I was already impressed from the first week! It's great to be able to receive calls while you're busy, for example, driving and talking through it, even messages (you can't reply, only write your own messages through the app). With the right watch face, it can be comfortably worn even on special occasions! Choose it without a second thought, as long as you're okay with the fact that it's not as "smart" as the Galaxy Watch or Apple. I was fine with that because there was no way I would charge another device every day besides my phone. Now, with the use I give it, it easily lasts 1 week, more likely to shut down because you forgot it, rather than due to the battery. Now, in sleep tracking, it is very accurate, especially if you have the true seen feature enabled. Flawless in every way!
Huawei does not support contactless payments in Greece as it claims. However, it is a sturdy and durable watch with a good screen! Battery life is definitely 6 days with continuous Bluetooth connection!!! The connection does not get lost. Call quality is clear, with capacity to store songs in memory and function independently from the phone's music. A negative aspect for me is that the speaker is on the side where you wash your hands, but if you keep that in mind, the watch will be fine. As for waterproofing, although it is listed as a feature, I wouldn't risk it based on comments I have read. Nevertheless, it is worth it as a watch!!!!! It charges magnetically. It has mobile and watch finding features respectively, so you don't lose it as long as it is connected via Bluetooth.
Upgrade from Watch GT2. It has all the classic functions but also ECG, measurement of arterial elasticity, skin temperature, etc. Relatively accurate in its measurements, satisfactory battery life, and has the ability to install third-party applications from the AppGallery.
Coming from Garmin (latest fenix 5x) and completely disappointed with its clarity and, of course, its nonexistent services, I initially had difficulty transitioning. Needless to say, I do not regret it at all; on the contrary, I finally SEE the time while running in the mountains, I don't miss anything in terms of accuracy, applications, battery life, and finally, I have a BEAUTIFUL watch that I admire on my wrist and everyone asks me what it is. As a trail runner and marathon runner on both trails and asphalt, I have enjoyed it in all terrains and conditions. Not to forget, very important, with the Garmin that cost 740 euros, from the first month I had to settle for scratches on the bezel (ridiculous)... the Huawei GT 3 Pro doesn't even notice anything!!!! The durability (despite its finesse) is incredible. It has both touch and smart function with buttons and a crown that functions as a scroll when rolled, for conditions with water, sweaty hands. The health application on the phone is also very advanced. I have bought one for myself with a plastic strap so that I can easily tighten it when I run... for more accurate measurements, and another one as a gift for a relative with a metal bracelet (a work of art).
Purchased from a well-known store for the specific purpose of swimming in open sea and running. On the first dive it turned black, I sent it for service and they told me they waterproofed it...??? and they sent it back to me, all summer it was fine until a few days ago a new dive in the sea, new black on the screen and now the problems with the public who tell me that I have to contact the company (even though it is under warranty) and I have been waiting for a response from the service for a possible replacement for 2 weeks. 450 euros wasted on the Chinese for a watch that claims to be suitable for diving. Stay away from this watch, it's not worth even 100 euros, its build quality is only appearance
One of the best purchases I have made. Very good build quality. The battery lasts 7-8 days with songs playing at the gym, all measurements open, and answering calls. I haven't put it in the sea yet because we are still afraid.
Purchased 10 months ago. Very powerful in automatic sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring. Measurements like body temperature and oxygen seem to be quite inaccurate.
Payments do not work in Greece and I don't know if they will ever activate it. So the NFC is useless. If I had researched it better, I would have gone for a version without NFC.
As a watch, it is beautiful and has plenty of free watchfaces for all tastes. There are also many available straps for purchase.
The battery, as advertised, lasted 10-12 days initially with all measurements enabled (body temperature, steps, stress, etc.). Suddenly, as others mentioned in the comments, it dropped to 2-3 days. I have the impression that some firmware update caused it, as it is a bit difficult for the battery to lose its power so abruptly. I tried a factory reset and disabling all measurements, but no difference. I sent an email to support and received no response, so I will take it to the service center hoping for a solution.
Coming from the gt, the first one which came out, I expected similar performance from the gt3 pro. In the end, it was very mediocre with a huge disadvantage of counting steps while driving. In a 2-hour journey, it added 800 steps to my count... I didn't think that upgrading the model would result in something like this. When it makes such big mistakes in step counting, I think it's unnecessary to trust any measurement of the watch. Otherwise, it has a good appearance and the battery is at the usual levels (hopefully it will prove to be good over time because I read some strange things). I suggest you go for older models of the company, it was my mistake to get this one and spend the extra money literally for no reason, as the older models do the same and better with less than half the price.
Purchased on May 10th, the battery used to last 10 days, just like the gt 2 I had. Now, I take it off the charger and in 3 hours it's at 50%, it doesn't even last a day..
Everything is fine with it, it looks nice and feels good in the hand, but don't put it in the water! It's supposed to be waterproof and suitable for diving! What about the other thing with Toto? I went into the sea for a simple swim, and when I came out, I accidentally pressed the drainage function, but the next day it was turned off and wouldn't turn on no matter what. I took it to the service center where on Monday 21/08 morning, I was in a queue with ten other people with the same problem. Well, not like this!
Coming from Garmin Vivoactive 3 music, I have to say that with this watch we have leveled up. Very durable and sturdy. The buttons and touch have a good feel. It never loses connection with the phone. As for exercise and exercise analysis, it is fantastic. I do Pilates, open water swimming, and running, and the accuracy and analysis it offers fully cover me. Very good sleep analysis as well as other health measurements. It has motivated me for additional exercise. Compared to the Garmin I had (which was similar in price but a cheap Garmin), it is definitely a more quality construction but also offers better analysis and capabilities in sports. For example, it measures very well in open water while the aforementioned Garmin was not intended for that at all and I had downloaded an app that did not measure well. It also has countless watch faces, both free and paid ones.
The battery is very good. With my sports activities, it definitely lasts 5-7 days (I have it in a mode where it only turns on when I turn it to check the time).
As for the negatives, the lack of NFC support in Greece (for payments) is a downside that I knew when I bought it, but I miss it compared to Garmin. Also, the presence of very few additional applications. But these two things (and having it in my possession for over a month) do not prevent me from giving it 5 stars. I highly recommend it, especially for those who want to use it as a sports watch!
I haven't had it for even a year and it has already given me a problem with the battery. It no longer holds a charge for even a day. I am on vacation and it has left me stranded. Coming from a previous Huawei smartwatch model, a cheaper version, which started acting up as soon as the warranty expired, I decided to get something better... I guess I wasted my money.
The purchase was made because it was advertised to have NFC, but it is not available in the menu because it is not supported in the European Union. A major disadvantage is the lack of NFC. I was a owner of the Huawei Watch GT 2 and I have to say that anyone considering getting it, it is basically the same as the Huawei GT2 with minor or different features. I don't know if it's worth the money they sell it for, but it definitely dropped from 400 euros to 250 because it doesn't have NFC and it also doesn't support micro sim. Other than that, the watch is generally very beautiful and lightweight.
