- An introductory note, where the literary elements concerning the respective author and his work in general, as well as the specific work or excerpt anthologized in the school book, are given.
- Lexical-Contextual elements, where the interpretation of difficult words or phrases in the text and some contextual content information are provided.
- Division into sections, where the structure of the text is presented.
- Summary rendition of the text.
- Interpretative commentary on the text by sections.
- Technical elements, where the technique followed by the author and the expressive means and methods he uses are examined.
- Answers to the exercises and interdisciplinary activities of the school book.
- Supplementary exercises, where deemed necessary, sometimes including correlation with a parallel text - the answers to these supplementary exercises are given at the end of the book.
