The new children's novel by Myrsini Viggopoulou, "Once in Macedonia", which is dedicated to the Macedonian Struggle, has been honored with the first prize of the Union of Writers of Northern Greece.

In this new book, inspired by real people and events,
"Grandma Myrsini" describes the exciting adventures of two young people in the early 20th century. Unknown heroes, girls and boys who lived in the mountains of Macedonia, do not hesitate to even sacrifice themselves for the ideal of freedom.

The plot of the story unfolds between yesterday and today. Today's children learn from the stories of their ancestors and relatives about a past that is still alive. Treasures and historical memories come to life before their eyes and they are moved by the bravery of their own people.

But History is not a fairy tale... It is a lesson and a duty for all, especially for our young people, who thirst for role models and ideals.
