The DJI RC Pro operates with a smooth system thanks to its next-generation processor and extensive storage capacity. Additionally, it features the DJI FPV control stick design for precise maneuvers and smooth operation.
This is an initial review. I will come back later with positives and negatives.
It is big, looks real, and impresses!
Considering that until now I was using the simple 11-inch iPad, the first thing that bothered me was its small screen, equivalent to that of the iPhone 14 but much smaller than the 14 Pro Max. The highly advertised 1000 nits (screen brightness) are not sufficient and the maximum volume is very low. The sticks have strange behavior and one must get used to them. The excessive number of buttons are useless as they provide very limited function options. The combination of buttons during flight is a negative element. The reason I bought it was because of the screen freezing issues I had with the basic RC. However, on the second flight, at 1400m in a familiar area where I have reached 4km with the simple one, it gave me a weak signal, I lost the image, and a) it did not automatically initiate RTH, and b) it returned after a whole minute where I barely had time to press RTH.
Start extending your finger (index finger) because you won't reach the trigger button while holding the RC normally, so capturing in-action images will be difficult, and I don't have small fingers, I am 1.86m tall.
The battery of the RC Pro drains faster since it has to power a screen.
I will come back after getting familiar with it
It was purchased because I work semi-professionally with wedding and event coverage.
The control is simply excellent and has solved my hands.
The screen is incredibly bright and has 4 buttons and a 5-directional button for shortcuts at your fingertips at any time.
I would like more options for shortcuts, hopefully in the future.
Sturdy construction, definitely needs a lanyard to hang it around your neck in case it slips from your hands.
It is very expensive, a more reasonable price would be around 700 euros.
But it's a DJI.
Good screen, range, and battery life. As a controller, it is excellent, but besides controlling the drone, it currently has no other capabilities. No photo transfer via Bluetooth, no cloud, no other applications, nothing. I hope it gets fixed soon because otherwise, I don't think it justifies the price.
Two months since the purchase and still nothing. Unacceptable. Copying photos from the drone to the RC pro through the RC pro app to the memory card and then using a card reader on a PC.
Six months later, I summarize: Better range than the basic controller, but the difference is not significant. No additional features, it's just a screen for the money you can buy an iPhone or a laptop. I would say the value for money cannot be lower. Why it costs twice as much as the previous controller, I don't think I can think of any reason.
