Very good, I was late to get it. It looks like the first one and improves all mechanics to a very good extent!
Quite improved compared to the previous one. They have fixed the mistakes and the graphics have improved a lot. Very beautiful landscapes, very well-made. I didn't like the physics though, they are too fast and fake. Also, a bit confusing with the upgrades of weapons and armors. Anyway, a pretty good game but also very difficult.
Personally, I got bored after about 10 hours. It doesn't have anything different to say from the beginning, and if you exclude the beautiful graphics, the rest is just go there, talk to so-and-so, kill that monster, and repeat. It didn't hold my interest at all. Maybe because I played it after Elden Ring, which taught me how open worlds should be, Horizon felt very "limited."
Graphics: I played both games in a row. The game of 2017 was truly beautiful. Forbidden West surpasses it. By far the most beautiful game of PS5. Initially, a huge upgrade in the faces of everyone, especially Aloy. The expressions are human, nothing like the first game. The whole world is a visual spectacle, the vegetation and the robots as well. And we're talking about a huge map. If you choose fidelity, the graphics will leave you speechless.
Gameplay: Huge upgrade here compared to 2017. More weapons and various other gadgets, plus the addition of the fluid element. The battles are intense and addictive, and they greatly improved the melee combat, which was tragic in the first game. There are endless things to do, many camps, hunting grounds, and many other new features. The map is quite dense, there is a certain amount of repetition, but it doesn't spoil the experience. It remains a top-notch open-world third-person action RPG game. At least 15 more robots, reaching a total of around 50. We also encounter new tribes. The performance mode had some issues at first, but now it's flawless.
Story: The story of 2017 left me speechless, the revelations were the epitome of sci-fi. Well, here they took it a step further. A STUNNING story with an amazing ending. All the characters are significant with background stories. The stories of the tribes we visit are also important. The best sci-fi story ever written.
Soundtrack: Outstanding with awesome themes like the main theme remix.
Overall: They took the amazing first game and perfected it. Tremendous upgrade everywhere, stunning graphics, and a perfect story. One of the best games of all time with Greek subtitles.
After the incredible experience of the first game, the Forbidden West came, where I expected a similar continuation.
In the game, I have spent many hours and have formed a very good impression. Exceptional graphics, nice movement, nice gameplay.
A little repetition after a certain point, I would prefer more options in melee combat.
Overall, it's a great game! I would buy it for 40 euros or less in a sale, of course.
After the amazing Ghost of Tsushima and Miles Morales, I started this epic. What a great game it is, with stunning graphics and beautiful colors, and I'm still at the beginning. It seems like a huge game... Sony, you release such amazing games. The game is a masterpiece, well done
I finished it in 224 hours and I didn't get bored at all. You start with zero powers and as the game progresses, you feel the need to upgrade your character in order to face the robots at the very difficult level. All side quests have something important to offer. The graphics are incredible and the story is very good. Since I have trouble moving on to another game now, I feel like I will be disappointed. For the story, I started Elden Ring and gave up. The graphics are much lower than Forbidden West, the hits on the enemies are not clean, it's like hitting in the air, and many other things.
In conclusion, we are talking about a great game that everyone should play. It requires patience to reach the point where you can handle all the machines confidently.
Horizon Forbidden West was my first "playstation 5" (it's not exactly a ps5 game, as it was also released on ps4) that I played when I first bought the console (Purchased PS5 console along with Forbidden West). I liked the first game, but I didn't have in mind to buy the sequel.
I have played the base game for 70 hours, plus 15 hours for the DLC.
The game fully reflects the term "sequel". It greatly improves the flaws of the first game, which means that the game becomes more enjoyable.
POSITIVES:
1) The first thing I said WOW when I pressed the "start" button was the visual aspect. The game has tremendous visual improvements. Terrifying differences from the first game, both in landscapes and character design. The variety of landscapes (desert, snow, etc.) present the graphics in a satisfying way! If you have a good TV, you will want to kiss the screen.
2) Nice additions! The hook and glider provide additional comfort to the player and enhance the exploration. The glider, for example, is very useful for descending mountains and buildings, something you couldn't do in the first game. Of course, there are other things, but I can't say anything because they are spoilers.
3) The detail in side quests and cutscenes. Although the side quests are a bit boring, their detail is commendable. In most RPGs, side quests are not given much importance, but here we see something different.
4) Decent soundtrack, but I don't consider it better than the first game.
5) Gameplay. The game has a progressive evolution. Variety in weapons, many combos with the spear, and a huge number of machines. Of course, I can't forget to mention the armors. Beautiful design and you can choose an armor just for appearance.
6) Fantastic DLC. Spending 20 hours for a 15-20 hour expansion is okay in my opinion. One reason why I think it's not on ps4 is the final boss.
7) The first game had the following flaw. You didn't remember the characters (except for ALOY because they presented her perfectly) and you didn't care about them at all. In Forbidden West, not only do you learn about the secondary characters, but you also bond with them.
8) Beautiful sound.
9) For some, it may be indifferent, but I can't say no to the addition of Greek (ONLY Greek menu and subtitles). Unfortunately, the game has many terms and difficult comprehension, especially for those who are not so familiar with English.
NEGATIVES:
1) Mediocre storyline. In contrast to the first game, Forbidden West falls short. I won't lie, the game prepares you PERFECTLY for the storyline, it builds up hype that something big will happen, BUT in the end, nothing happens. You try to collect certain things, which seems obvious, so you don't expect any twists (except for 1-2 exceptions). However, even though it seems obvious that you will collect things, you encounter different areas, machines, and characters. I will give a big "+" for the end because it shows something very interesting for the third installment.
2) BAD PLATFORMING. I have done all the quests that require you to climb platforms and move objects. The game does not respond correctly to the commands at all. Besides that, I do things like jumping and my character never grabs onto the platform, even though I'm doing it correctly.
3) Gameplay. I mentioned positives in this aspect, but I can't ignore the negatives. Enemies (both machines and others) often teleport towards you (they cover a specific distance with their attack, but because you are relatively close to them, they teleport a short distance and hit you) even if you have dodged or slide-dodged. It's EXTREMELY annoying.
Additionally, the game doesn't give you enough incentive to learn combos with the spear, resulting in only relying on 1-3 attacks.
4) The RPG element. It's overloaded with symbols and overwhelms you. There are many unnecessary things that don't motivate you to engage with them. However, ONE thing that you acquire from the main story greatly saves the mediocre RPG element.
As a continuation, Forbidden West is a worthy successor but it doesn't make a huge impact. Those who didn't like the first game or don't enjoy large RPGs should avoid this title. On the contrary, for those who loved the first game, I highly recommend it without hesitation! I had a great time with the game and I don't hide it despite its flaws. I even obtained the Platinum trophy without any reluctance!
Definitely the most beautiful game you can find right now!! Truly every second is a feast for the eyes.. if you manage to immerse yourself in the combat system, which is definitely complex, you will love it..
An incredibly beautiful game that showcases the power of the PS5, but with a complex gameplay and controls. Definitely not for everyone. Although there are no extreme differences from the 1st one in general terms (except that you can glide, fly with a bird robot, new types of robots, etc.), it is awesome. The graphics are amazing, the story continues from where it left off in the previous one, with the same enjoyable killing and pleasant flexibility in movement, and everything else we loved in the 1st one, with superior graphics. Also, there are INFINITE things to do, from collectibles to side quests. A purchase without hesitation, no second thoughts needed.
One of the best games someone can play on the PS5. Approximately 40 hours of gameplay for the main story + another 40 hours for the side quests at the price of (30-35€) is truly a must-have game. Incredible graphics, very good plot. Highly recommended!
I couldn't not give this game 5 stars. Beautiful graphics, great story and dialogue that keeps you engaged, wonderful gameplay. A worthy and natural continuation of Zero Dawn & Frozen Wilds. One of the must-play open world games.
If I wanted something more, it would be to have even more types of enemies and for the world to be even bigger. And maybe to better utilize the PS5 controller.

Perfect and improved in every way from the first. At the beginning, I hesitated, only looking at the map, thinking it would last forever, but ultimately with an amazing story and very nice side missions, the unbelievably next-gen graphics that I have seen so far and you can't stop playing. Games like this are the reason why I have gone from PS1 to PS5 and I don't see myself ever getting bored of gaming.
Having finished the previous game in the series, which is also exceptional, I started this one and after 7+ hours of gameplay, I can say that the game is exceptional in terms of graphics, gameplay, sound, exploration, enemies, design, and story. I can't wait to finish it as well, I highly recommend it, especially at the current price of €35!
Those of us who played the first one knew what to expect! Masterpiece! Amazing graphics, very good story, very well made! Over 50 hours of gameplay, a large map, without being chaotic. I didn't get bored at any point except for some side quests, where you usually do the same tasks over and over again. Relatively easy platinum. Now Horizon is also one of Sony's strong cards.
A game with amazing graphics and a very nice story. The battle system is quite good. You need to dedicate a lot of time to the game as the world is particularly large with many secondary missions which, to be honest, tired me a little. The Greek subtitles are a very positive addition. The dialogues are excessively long and unnecessary for my taste at least... The skills are fine.. I would have liked the weapon upgrades to be a little better. Overall, it's a game that screams that you should get involved with it. As a final rating, I give it 5 stars as the negatives I consider are not able to ruin my overall experience with the game
Repetitive, I only recommend it for those who have plenty of time to deal with the boring side missions and the overall grindy mentality of the game. Its only advantage is the graphics.
If you had played the previous one, you will definitely like this one... the story is long and interesting with many side quests that keep your interest, new weapons, techniques, etc... the graphics are incredible (ps5) and the sound is unbelievably good, especially if you wear the ps5's pulse headphones... The only negative thing I have to say is that the buttons they have added for combo moves in battle don't really affect you much, but when you go to fight in an arena, it messes up your rhythm. It is definitely worth the money
A sequel as it should be
Let's break it down:
1) Amazing graphics that truly make you stop playing and admire the landscapes.
2) The sound is incredible, and the 3D audio, along with the music and environmental sounds, contribute to an unbelievably immersive audiovisual experience.
3) The gameplay includes additions and a skill tree that allows you to customize your playstyle. This addition was satisfying, and the melee combat has seen many improvements. The bow gameplay is similar to the first game, with nice additions like extra arrows that you can shoot. The climbing, however, was a negative aspect for me. Many times, Alloy would get stuck and I had to take a different route, even though she could have gone the way I had chosen. Overall, it's a good addition, as the first game didn't have it.
4) The controls are very good, and the character's movement is enhanced by the Dualsense controller. Without exaggeration, you can feel everything around you, from the machines to the arrows. It truly adds another dimension to the whole experience!
5) The story has a proper character development, excellent performances, and it delves even deeper into the game's theme. For those like me who are nitpickers, don't miss the collectibles, as they contain very interesting stories from the old world!
6) Side quests are not mandatory, but the game encourages you to do them. I would recommend doing as many as you can, but you can also skip them and focus on the main storyline.
There are also some technical issues that have been addressed in the game's analyses (I highly recommend the Balanced mode at 40fps or the 60fps with VRR, which goes up to 90-120fps). I noticed some minor issues with transitions between cut scenes and sometimes things in the background not loading in time, but these were only for split seconds!
Verdict:
For someone like me who loves the first game and is a huge fan of sci-fi games, this is a proper sequel that no one will regret, especially those who enjoyed the first one! Get it!
A must-play and Game of the Year for me.

Having completed the game a while ago and being a fan of the series, I will say that the game, although not perfect, deserves 5 stars.
The story didn't seem very strong to me, especially the ending with the final battle. There was also a small lull in between.
HOWEVER, the ideas of the storyline were very good. The game was developed for the PS4 and perhaps that's why there were some limitations in how certain missions were designed.
The graphics are indeed the best currently available. Incredible detail in everything. The photo mode is truly a second game.
Guerilla made a lot of effort to bring new elements to every aspect, and I appreciate that. They didn't rest on their laurels. I find some of the new weapons and abilities to be excessive, but I recognize the company's passion to please the fans.
For all the new ideas, the game's evolution, the company's effort, and the continuous updates with improvements, it deserves 5 stars

Why ruin such a good franchise with so many expectations? I mean, it has amazing graphics and gameplay, but they filled it with unnecessary things in the storyline and map. So much hype went to waste. Luckily, they decided to fix this with the call of the mountain, which is a PSVR2 exclusive.
Very good graphics, strange but beautiful story, but it needs a lot of grinding, it's a very big game
This particular game does not offer groundbreaking ideas in the RPG genre. However, what it does is implement quite well the ideas of an RPG based on concepts from similar games of the past decade. It manages to do this very well. Some may call it a generic game, but not everything is for everyone. What I can say with certainty, having played 70+ hours of the game, is that it is worth the money on day one. It may not convince everyone, but let me ask you another question: find me a relatively new action RPG that does the same job or even better than this one. There are very few games, but even then, the comparison may be subjective.
What is definitely in the S-tier category is the world exploration. The further west you go and the more the story progresses, the more interesting it becomes. The detail in the machines, components, and weak spots is on another level. The gameplay is unique and interesting at the same time. It has some minor bugs, but I believe they will be resolved. It makes me wonder how Guerrilla went from the relatively okay but soon-to-be shallow campaign of Killzone to this game. You might say that Killzone had multiplayer, but who was playing Killzone multiplayer when there were FPS games that received more support from the devs? With these games, Sony reminds us that it has quality exclusives. The only unfortunate thing about this game is that it coincided almost simultaneously with Elden Ring, and some may choose one of the two for now.

Extremely graphics. Perhaps the best in a game for the PS5 up until the moment I am writing the review. Large map with many places to explore.
As for the negatives of the game.... for me, the story of the game is mediocre. Overall, the game is quite repetitive and the enemies are quite difficult to defeat (I have finished all the souls type games from Fromsoftware and I love Miyazaki's poems) to the point where I tried playing it on normal instead of hard difficulty. Overall, for my tastes alone, it's not worth the hype because the plot of the game didn't keep me engaged. I consider the first game in the series to be better. It is by no means a bad game, quite the opposite... it's just that everyone has different tastes. I know that my opinion won't please many, but the purpose of reviews is to be subjective when it comes to gaming. Others may really like it.
Forbidden West Collector's Edition. I can say that along with the Cyberpunk collector's edition, they are the most beautiful collectibles that have passed through my hands! (Without being an important measure of comparison since I am not a crazy collector). The collector's edition is worth it, especially now that it has dropped below €200.
As for the game, things are relatively simple. You must and it is worth playing it. Personally, I spent over 170 hours on it. The graphics are stunning, the world is depicted very nicely, and overall, it is a glimpse of what we can expect from games in the near future (especially considering that FW also runs on PS4!).
However, to be honest, the game follows the well-played recipe of open-world games. Personally, I didn't get tired of it in the same way as others did, but similarly (see Valhalla). It's the battles with the machines, it's a bit of the unique story... anyway, it somehow kept me better!
Perhaps at some point, this open-world mentality with random notes that give you the exact information you're looking for, as if they were waiting for you with an appointment to go read them, needs to change. The unnecessary side quests that try to force you into places that would otherwise "escape" you, and in general, all those things that open-world games have done, exploration games, routine games, and farming.
Nevertheless, FW maintains a balance and speaking from my own experience, I enjoyed it! It also has an achievable platinum trophy for the hunters, and everything is cool!
You enjoy your time, you create graphics, what else do you want from a game?
Unfortunately, Forbidden West won't offer you something very different from the first Horizon, but it is upgraded in all aspects. It took me 111 hours to reach 77% completion. Of course, I completed the main story, I just left some things around that were a bit difficult for me. As I progressed, I tried to do everything that opened up around me and not leave them for later, so you upgrade your character better and enjoy it more. The side missions are really interesting, I didn't find myself getting bored at all. Horizon is a very nice and enchanting journey, enjoy it.
