I have the mobile since Friday 5/11. The user experience so far is excellent. The build quality is very good, especially lightweight and user-friendly. The screen is amazing, the sound is good although monophonic, and the processor has no issues whatsoever. The battery easily lasts for a day of use, without playing games of course. The cameras are exceptional for both photography and video. Finally, regarding Google Services, there is no problem with the G Space app, although there are alternative solutions that work perfectly fine in the Huawei App Gallery.
Very good phone but unfortunately it was problematic from the beginning.
When I answered or made a call, the screen suddenly malfunctioned, causing the phone to receive commands (shutting down, going on standby, zooming in). Now it is with the general service and I am waiting for results.
Unfortunately, after a month, I threw it away. Very bad representation and one of the worst services.
Few problems before getting the necessary upgrades. I read that it will receive version 13.1 at some point, so with microg, you won't need to open applications through gspace or gbox. I have already installed microg services and I have almost everything. The only thing I can't connect is Google Wallet for contactless transactions, but there is a Huawei equivalent. I have free YouTube and Music without ads, broken Spotify, good call quality, very fast charging, a decent camera, and the phone is beautiful. For the price I got it, 200, it's worth it and I don't want anything else at the moment.
I have it for 1 year, it doesn't have Google services, I knew that and the truth is that it's a bit annoying, even though I said it doesn't matter, I bought the phone for 200 euros, for that price it's a star, it's fast, it doesn't freeze and it takes nice photos
Away without google services makes your life difficult, YouTube freezes, maps do not open correctly, and generally many issues with unsupported apps. The only thing worth it is the curved screen.
I have the mobile phone for 9 months.
POSITIVES: fast, good camera ONLY THESE
NEGATIVES: it does not have google services which is really unacceptable, the screen and the battery are not that good
The mobile phone should cost 200€
I bought the mobile phone a few months ago based on its supposedly good camera. I have taken it with me on countless trips and outings, and the photos it takes are, to say the least, terrible! They always come out blurry, and the worst part is that they look like paintings where you can see every pixel! Stay away if you care about the camera, I wonder how there are so many good reviews! I have a second Xiaomi 8 Lite and its camera is way better compared to this one! Unless I happened to get a defective model! Truly disappointing...
I have to say that the mobile phone for the money I got it (251€) is great, except for the battery and the location, but it solves with its fast charging characteristics with a 66W charger, the phone is fast and has never frozen on me, and with Google services it has absolutely no issues with Huawei's applications, everything is perfect
The phone as a device is worth it and more. Perfect screen, impeccable resolution, slightly curved screen so the phone looks very nice.
The phone is very functional in hand.
Photos and videos are all perfect.
Now the negatives!!
The battery drains quickly and just when you think you can make it, the phone shuts down. It charges quickly but needs constant charging.
The fact that it is not Android made it very difficult for me and was the reason to give it to my husband and get another one.
I had never used the clone phone from Xiaomi, so I sat down and transferred the contacts one by one.
You can find the apps you want from here and there, but the issue is that they don't work properly and consume a lot of battery.
They do not communicate with each other correctly.
I bought Xiaomi again, connected it to my Gmail and I was amazed at how easily everything was done!! I had forgotten about it.
I had it since January and luckily it broke for my husband and I was able to change it so quickly!!!
Very good mobile phone. I had in my possession both Poco x3-4pro and redmi note 12. Now with Huawei Appstore, but also GBOX, Gspace without much trouble regarding Google Services, but some issues are not resolved. Very good support. 8/10
The mobile is excellent in all areas (especially its photography) and after 1.5 years, it functions flawlessly. The only drawback is the Google services, which you get used to over time.
Very good mobile phone worth its money, amazing screen, flawless photos. There is an issue with Google, but with gspace, you can do your work. The battery doesn't last very long, but with the fast charger, you're good in 20 minutes.
An exceptional mobile phone approaches flagship quality construction characteristics, top-notch call quality, amazing OLED screen quality, and incredible photos. The only drawback is the lack of Google services, but there are solutions even for 200 euros, no discussion about it.
I bought it for around 300 euros a year ago and for its price, it is still a flagship even without Google services. I highly recommend it without a second thought.
In these funds (250) out of 550 initial, there is no faster mobile with such a 120hz screen-processor and a Huawei warranty camera. However, the violent divorce between Google and Huawei has an impact on most apps, whether they are Google or not available in the appgallery, while those that exist are slow to update, additionally the mess that prevails due to the above stores that you need to have applications outside the gallery, results in applications dying when updates are made from a different store and you have to search where you installed it from. Aurora Store is recommended for IG, FACEBOOK, etc. I use GSPACE for goolge apps only for G Maps, and 2-3 applications that do not work without them even the skroutz app.... the rest of the notes calendar do not work even with a request but you can easily adapt to outlook, one note, EDGE, etc. The screen is at the level of P40-50Pro mobiles 900+ $, while the camera is great under okay conditions, it is difficult under low light conditions - especially in video shooting. The front camera is one of the best on the market. A big pro is that it charges up to 66w (20 to 80%) in 20-25 minutes, and while I was afraid of how long the battery would last, it seems to improve as it learns how you charge it, etc. It easily lasts a full day of heavy use.
The mobile phone for its price (240€) is value for money. The only problem I encountered is that it cannot download the Google Pay app (Google wallet). The photos, videos, sound, speed, and battery are quite satisfactory for the price of the mobile phone.
Owner for 6 months. The mobile is flawless, it has nothing to envy from flagship devices in terms of features, the only drawback is the lack of Google services. Battery beast. A solid 8.5/10. A real gem.
Purchase 230 euros early 2023. I will only refer to the Google apps part. Because of habit, I decided to continue using them; I initially installed gspace and yes, I had almost everything... Except for the battery. This specific app consumed so much energy that the battery barely lasted 12 hours. I read somewhere about g box and thought I'd give it a try. I installed it alongside g space to see what happens. Needless to say, in terms of functionality, the phone worked for 3 days with double and triple apps that I intentionally opened simultaneously, and it never lagged. After I did the tests, I decided to keep g box. Everything works perfectly and more smoothly, and of course without battery consumption. I don't play games; I want the phone for work, email, browsing, music from Spotify, and a bit of running training. The connection with the GT 2 watch and the Huawei wireless headphones had no issues, as expected, nor with Bluetooth in general. I also had no problems with banks and notifications; I use Alpha Bank and Alpha Wallet. Google Wallet was the only app among those I use that I couldn't install. I have a screenshot of the ones I use that work, as well as 2 random photos (the tree is a night shot). For the rest, read the other reviews.
Update 4/9/2024. Since the other wallets were discontinued and we had to use Google Wallet, I admit it was difficult; I got a Poco to do my job and left the Nova 9, but something didn't feel right with the Poco in terms of software, photos, etc., so I got involved again and installed Curve. I didn't get a physical card nor paid anything. I have linked a credit card and a debit card, and now I can also make payments. The contactless payment part was a thorn in my side that has finally been resolved.
Owner for 9 months... I bought it ignoring the Google Play reviews because there was a solution because I was a previous owner of Huawei Mate 10 and I was very satisfied but this one, although it has all the features for a value-for-money phone, it fails a lot with its operating system, nothing works correctly from gspace, serious problems with Facebook, Messenger, and many other apps, especially apps that need the phone to connect and communicate with other devices. It's good in terms of cameras, speakers, and headphones, but it disappoints in terms of its operating system. I bought it for 250€ from here...
My review concerns the model that was not introduced in Greece, the Nova 9 Pro, purchased from China. I had a little difficulty at first, but eventually everything went smoothly through the browser appgallery, and I connected with Viber, Eurobank app, and many others. I don't miss the GMS at all, as I have replaced Gmail with Bluemail and Outlook for YouTube with Vanced. The quality is amazing, with an aluminum frame that is lightweight in the hand. The phone excels in everything. This particular model comes with a 4000mAh battery and a 100W charger, which charges very quickly and lasts for up to one or two days with frequent use, which is a normal consumption. As a first-time Huawei phone owner, I was amazed by the quality. The only thing I couldn't activate is the fingerprint sensor, for some reason I can't seem to get it to work, maybe it's because of the screen protector. It came with Harmony OS. It's an amazing phone with a fast processor and a fantastic screen. Even though it's a 2021 model, it's worth every euro I paid for it. The camera is excellent and takes clear photos. However, after 8 months of use and upgrading to Harmony OS 4, the phone has a serious battery consumption problem. I've tried closing everything, but every 15 minutes without use, it drops by 2%. I don't know why, but I started to get disappointed with the quality. I don't know if it's because of the update, but I definitely started to get annoyed with such a short usage time. Additionally, if you restart the phone, it doesn't find any signal at all. If I try the airplane mode and other functions, then it works normally. This has started happening recently. I went to the store and the SIM card works fine on another phone, but not on mine. The Curve app works fine after some settings, allowing for contactless payments through NFC. There is no warranty for me to send it somewhere because I bought it from China, and I don't know if it can be fixed, but I don't see it happening. I put it aside with a new SIM card, but it doesn't work, and the battery needs to be replaced. A very bad purchase.
First of all, I wanted to say that I bought the phone used for 180 euros from a private seller. The phone is simply amazing:
Battery - I never let the phone go below 60% as it takes a lot of effort to drain it (with maximum resolution and refresh rate) and it charges very quickly. If you're at 50%, it will take you a maximum of 15 minutes to reach 85%. At first, it seemed magical.
Display - the display is simply fantastic. The resolution, colors, and smoothness you feel due to the curved screen are top-notch.
Performance - it can handle any game. Asphalt 9, Fortnite at 60 fps, Roblox at max graphics, everything runs smoothly. Multitasking is a breeze. It's fast.
Music - the speaker is really good. The bass is only present as an idea, although the sound is much better than other models. It's great.
Camera - in photos, there are no issues, except sometimes in photos with a lot of details, it can have some noise in certain areas. The colors are more vibrant than in reality. The focus is perfect. In videos, it's great in 4k. The only thing that bothered me is that the stabilizing only works in story mode. The macro and ultra-wide lenses are not that impressive, but the main sensor has better results than the 108mp sensors in other phones. You'll understand when you see it for yourself.
In conclusion, instead of buying phones that are like toys, like the Xiaomi ones for 150 and 160 euros, get this one (although now the price has gone up due to it being off-sale). The phone feels premium, meaning that visually, it doesn't differ from the company's flagship models. The back is all glossy. The photo in the scratch doesn't do it justice. Also, the camera module looks much higher quality up close and it also shines. The issues with Google and others don't bother me at all. You can find everything. Google and YouTube work perfectly fine through the browser. Without a second thought, it's worth every penny of the 180 euros I paid, but compared to the regular price of a brand new device (260-280) from other companies in the same price range, this one still has that extra something. You won't regret the purchase. Bravo to Huawei once again.
I bought it for 250€ coming from a mid-low range xiaomi redmi 8. Some may wonder if it's worth it to switch from google services, due to the specified OS and the absence of unnecessary google apps, the phone meets the expectations set by its specs. On the other hand, Huawei fills the gap with its own email, app store, maps, and other apps without any significant difference in ease of use compared to google's. In terms of hardware, the phone flows smoothly, it's fast and easy on the eyes, never lags, and responds incredibly fast. Games run smoothly. Not a gaming machine by any means, but for simple everyday mobile games, its processor is overkill. Amazing amoled screen with very satisfactory colors and 120hz that really make a difference. For daily use, its 8GB of RAM is MORE than enough and the 128GB capacity can hold many photos, movies, music, and apps. The photos are great, the speaker is average, and **(The battery, despite being 4300 mAh, lasts a full day)** and with the fast charging the phone has, its autonomy is not a problem at all. One drawback I noticed is that the touch at the edge of the edge display is not as accurate, but this is a detail that never appears during use.
UPDATE (After 1.5 years of use):
POSITIVES:
I found the need to use google maps as the Huawei app is not as updated, with the Gspace app all the basic Google apps are available.
NEGATIVES:
The Huawei wallet app requires an intermediary card from the curve company and the google wallet app is not available even through GSpace, which removes the NFC functionality.
The battery is now noticeably weaker with wear of 8% - 10%. Charging is still incredibly fast but the battery barely lasts a day for basic use, so nightly charging is a must. For demanding tasks or gaming, with the little experience I have in this area, the battery doesn't last long.
Almost perfect in everything. Especially for its price (235 Euro 2 months ago). Maybe the speaker and battery are slightly below the level of the other areas.
Fast with plenty of RAM and doesn't lag anywhere. The only downside is that its battery only lasts for one day, coming from the Huawei P40 Lite, which easily lasted for 2 days.
Of course, it has a super-fast 65W charger and charges effortlessly.
Definitely a quality phone, great value for money.
I have all the apps and it doesn't lack anything.
Vfm definitely yes, although it has a small issue with the fact that it doesn't have Google and you have to download some from gspace which consumes a bit more battery than normal. As for codm, it plays all games comfortably on ultra high settings and frames. I regret my 250 euros for these.
I got it after a lot of searching, flawless in everything, it's a beast and should cost twice as much for what it offers, in my opinion the best value for money phone out there. As for the Google services, not to mention gaming which I don't deal with at all, the app gallery literally has everything, I had no problem installing and using any application, I'm "in love" with the device and I recommend it to everyone. Amazing camera, screen, speed. What else could you ask for?
The previous one I had was the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.. Which I really liked.. Now the Huawei Nova 9 impressed me with the photo resolution.. the intensity of the speakers, the appearance of the phone which is quite well-designed.. That's it.. The rest haven't satisfied me.. Having downloaded applications.. Like taxibeat, sometimes it doesn't open them and the phone freezes.. Also, the petal map, although they made a good effort and it is easy to use, personally it doesn't work correctly for me.. And I have been on the wrong road twice, following the supposed correct route.... I would prefer it to have Google services because I believe it would be more compatible and there wouldn't be this confusion... Nevertheless, for the price of €200, it was worth it.. I don't regret it.. I couldn't find anything better, especially in terms of photography, that could easily compete with another one worth €700+.. I focus on the positives!
Finally, I have it in my hands and I have something to say.. Huawei has been unfairly attacked... Okay, it doesn't come with pre-installed Google services but with phone clone, I easily transferred everything to the new phone and Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Pinterest, Pacer, and even the Piraeus Bank app work perfectly. It receives notifications normally and I didn't need to download them from gspace. Of course, YouTube and Viber didn't transfer, but I will download them from gspace. However, a YouTube-like app opened immediately and played whatever music I requested without any ads. It's new to me and I haven't fully understood how it works yet, but so far it's fully functional. Of course, I don't play paid games, so I don't have an issue there. Beautiful, lightweight, amazing camera. I simply love it!
