The first comprehensive interpretive approach to the new regulations for child custody, focusing on substantive solutions and critical case law.
This work presents all the issues of parent-child relationships after their parents' separation and attempts to interpret the new regulations for child custody following the reform brought about by Law 4800/2021.
The interpretive effort was largely based on international experience on the subject. The international legal aspects of the issue and the existence of a "common core" of rules among European legal systems in the matters under consideration were particularly taken into account, as the proposed interpretive solutions to the issues raised are largely drawn from the rich foreign case law on provisions of other European legislations (German, French, and English) that are now similar to the provisions of Greek law after the recent reform.

The aim of the work is to avoid dogmatism and emphasize solutions to specific problems, which were provided by the legal practitioner with reference to a specific child. After all, the best interest of the child is always assessed in concreto. What makes the study of the work even more useful for the reader is the inclusion of footnotes with representative excerpts from case law, Greek and foreign, capable of offering direct solutions to the lawyer as well as the judge.

This work also attempts to highlight, in an inductive and applied manner, the partial principles governing child custody, which can serve as guiding principles for the implementation of the new legislative framework.
