Playing 1 and 2 consecutively (ps4), I would say that 2 is the continuation of the first with a significantly large upscale in many aspects. In 1, you didn't control all the robots, like in 2 for example. To not bore you, for me, the game is among the top ten of the ps4 generation. It's worth its money 100%.
I got it for the ps5. It is something very impressive and different in terms of story and enemies. Especially for the price of 10-15 with the offer I had bought it, it's worth it

If someone is a fan of the gameplay of the first game, they will love the new and updated version in this game. The weapons and enemies present a greater variety and sometimes force you to use strategy and creativity. Also, the graphics are incredible and with the addition of the slider, you have the opportunity to appreciate one of the most beautiful and impressive games of this generation.
The map is huge and there are so many side quests that you have the opportunity to explore the world, the different races, and interesting characters through gameplay.
However, I must mention that I got lost in the story. Trying to create a sense of risk and greater danger than the first game, they ended up essentially undoing all the achievements of the first game for the sake of a story that is so complex that after a while, I simply skipped the dialogues to get to the gameplay. The protagonist of the game, although incredibly well-written and complex in the first game, loses this complexity here and simply becomes a "tool" for achieving a higher purpose, thus losing many of the characteristics that made her likable.
The story, for me, is the biggest weakness of this game. However, many of the side quests impressed me with how well-written they were and how well they tied the characters to the story and gameplay.
In summary, for those who liked the first game, it is definitely worth playing. The graphics are incredible and accompanied by a very atmospheric soundtrack, and the gameplay is a slightly more complex updated version of the first game.
Rarely does a sequel manage to surpass its predecessor, and in this case the same happens. Yes, it has amazing graphics and the same (and better) gameplay, but all the magic of mystery and the unknown that we had in the first one is lost. The story also seemed inferior to expectations. It is not bad by any means, but the first one is leagues better. -A strong soundtrack that will stay in your mind is missing. Even low-budget games like Generation Zero & Draugen have awesome soundtracks, and here I expected something better. -The story is mediocre. -The skill tree is a mess. -The PS4 struggles and if you give it two wings, it might even fly. +The game is huge and the environments are beautiful. +Exploring underwater adds another dimension. Rating 7.5/10
The games make the ps4 pro give everything it can to run super smooth phases in slow motion, where the screen tilts to load the game and the sound is top-notch. The lore is pretty good and they added some cool things like flying or climbing down from water and going into fire to do incredible stunts. The characters now are much more alive, but somewhere here the positives end.
Negatives, now the story is kind of boring with a disappointing ending that leaves you hanging, wondering why they didn't do it in this game and left it for the next one. The battles are repetitive, you just shoot arrows, fire, or a variation of that, and it's the same as the first one. I can't understand why they added separate cities when in the first one there was only one and it was enough.

The definition of taking something very good and simple and changing its lights! As a standalone game, it is quite good, but if someone compares it to 1, it is simply inferior. Okay, it has nice graphics, but talking about graphics in 2022 and the following years, the only thing it shows is the nostalgia of the PS1-2 era! If something should be standard in today's and tomorrow's games, it is graphics, sound, visuals, etc.
What matters today is gameplay and interaction with the character you control! And there, the game still falls short. We see the same flaws as in 1 in 2. In fires, you play with the position where you will stand to fast travel/save, in jumps, where it breaks, it takes 1-2 extra steps. As for climbing, it is a poor copy of the AC. Not to mention stealth, it's tragic. With one arrow, they search for you, with 3, everyone knows where you are!!
As for the coils... it's the same as in 1. You can only buy the 4 good ones from 2 merchants. In ng+, another 4. There is no farming in machines to have the chance to find more.
If it's not the worst, it's one of the worst rng in a game, both in 1 and 2.
Weapons and armor... well, there they thought of giving depth but they lost the bottom. They removed the corruption arrows and added a bunch of other ammunition that during battle you do nothing but open the menu to search for which arrows to choose. You lose all the essence of gaming with the time you spend in the menu. Not to mention the materials of the ammunition, hard to find and require farming if played from normal and above. Also, weapon and armor upgrades require crazy and demanding farming.
Advice, apex only come out at night (!!!) and this is played, as in Tremortusk it is not certain that you will find apex at night!!!
Some pleasant additions like the Shieldwing and Pullcaster do not save the image of the game. As for the highly advertised dive mask and underwater exploration... so far, no game, as far as I know, reaches AC Black Flag, and it is also a decade old!!!
Also, in the base with the companions, you will have a sense of Mass Effect.

Whatever I say is not enough for this epic. One of the most well-crafted single player games ever created.
Graphics: exceptional with incredible details that make you love the game even more... Especially the water (sea) is unbelievable, nothing like the first one that lacked a lot in this aspect.
Gameplay+ story: EPIC. Very powerful as it has a huge variety of main, side missions, errands, bandit camps, etc. Not at all tiring, the story is very interesting even though I was very afraid since I had played the first one and couldn't imagine what else could occupy Aloy. Fortunately, my fears were not confirmed as not only was the story commendable but perhaps even better than the Zero Dawn story. Mainly because the evolution of the story was smoother in the Forbidden West, better utilizing the game's characters.
Machines: a huge variety of gigantic and non-mechanical enemies above and below the sea, each requiring separate techniques to defeat, unlike Zero Dawn where you simply freeze them and spam arrows continuously until they are defeated.
Characters: I am glad that in the Forbidden West, the characters are close to Aloy and accompany her on many missions, giving you the opportunity to bond with other characters besides the protagonist.
Mechanics: climbing is beautiful with many possibilities. The glider is incredibly useful and believe me, there will be much more useful and cool tools/items once you unfold the game's story.
Finally, it is very positive that the game supports Greek subtitles, making it easier for you since the vocabulary used throughout the game is complex and intricate, especially in the data points.

Awesome... if you liked the first one, you will be thrilled with the sequel. Amazing graphics and sound, endless gameplay and storyline. Sci-fi for the Oscars. No comparison to the nonsense of death stranding. The only negative thing I can point out is the complexity of the upgrades, which can make you lose track a bit.
As fans of the first game, HFW is coming and improving everything in terms of graphics, sound, and gameplay, an excellent sequel! I really had a great time with the game and I'm looking forward to the continuation.
Nice game, the graphics are fantastic as well as the steelbook, I found the bosses quite easy since I have played all the souls games, very nice experience as an open world game but it's not worth the 60€... You can find much cheaper games that are at the same or even better level. Besides that, I enjoyed my time and I recommend it if you played and liked the first one

Today I started it and having finished zero dawn, I see a great improvement. Although there are still issues with graphics, etc., they will be resolved soon. For the ps4 slim, the graphics are mesmerizing. The facial expressions have greatly improved. Where I excel is the music. It has been an amazing job. At a cinematic level without exaggeration. The skill tree has expanded a lot, but I have doubts about the usefulness of some skills (time will tell). As for the story and missions, I know I will be satisfied to the fullest. I feel very happy to have it in my possession
After two weeks and something, I finished it, of course keeping the last mission aside to prepare properly.
Well, the game is an improved version of Zero Dawn in everything. The battle is even more flexible, you have many more options whether we're talking about melee, in which various combos have been added, or about weapons. New elements in arrows, bombs, traps, healing, skill tree, which, let's say, some skills that in the first game you had to learn, here you have them from the beginning of the game. There is a great variety in everything.
Apart from the old machines, it goes without saying that there are also new ones, some of which are Thunderjaw level in difficulty. There are also Apex Machines, improved versions of the machines and more challenging. Their AI is much better than the first one and unfortunately, you can't whistle them to come towards you. It requires better tactics even in stealth.
Climbing also has its improvements, it is freer than the first one. Not like Assassin's Creed, but in most mountains and slopes, you will find a way to climb. There is also something that will help you towards the end of the main story, but I won't spoil it yet. The Shieldwing is a very useful addition, so you don't die all the time from falls, just like the mask that gives you unlimited oxygen underwater.
As for the story, I really don't know how much praise we should give to Guerilla. While the end of the first game gave the impression that it ended there and there is nothing new, it opens up new fronts that would never cross our minds. You will learn a lot by playing it, about the reasons that brought the world to this mess and information that will leave you frozen. I was amazed by many cutscenes. However, I can't say more because everything would be a spoiler. Only that it leaves the possibility open for a third game, as Guerilla has already stated. And the evolution of Aloy, fantastic. It's amazing that a character is so fierce, tough, and smart, but at the same time also compassionate and sensitive.
The only negative thing is some bugs in certain games. So far, there is nothing that will make you get stuck somewhere without an escape, except for a Cauldron towards the end, they are just annoying. Two DLCs have already been released that have solved many issues and it will continue to improve as time goes on.
The game is a solid 10 for me. I wish the main story was just a little longer. There are plenty of side quests and errands. And the map is almost one and a half times the size of the Zero Dawn map.
If you were hooked on the first game, give it 50 euros if you have them and get it immediately. If you're not crazy about it, wait a bit and the price will drop. Under no circumstances should you play it if you haven't played Zero Dawn. That's all.

Excellent game from all perspectives. The characters are very interesting compared to the previous one, the music is very nice, and the environment is beautiful, full of contrasts. Horizon Forbidden West is the definition of an enhanced sequel! It has improved in all areas compared to its predecessor, introducing many imaginative new elements. There are also new enemies and machines, as well as a fully revamped skill tree with more abilities for survival, close combat, ranged combat, and new skills for traps. There are now several essential side missions that are not tiresome and offer significant benefits, especially at the beginning. The technical aspect is definitely one of the best, if not the best. It is very close to the first horizon but it is definitely improved. Better animation and graphics, more options in gameplay, a more diverse world and machines, and other small improvements. What impressed me though is how well it plays on the original PS4, it's not 100% smooth but it definitely didn't ruin the experience for me. In other words, if you liked the first one, you will love the forbidden west
