Along with Hector the bear and Paris the mouse, draw, write, and learn the letters, one by one. Each letter has its own page. First, color the design that depicts something starting with that particular letter.

Discuss with your child other words that start with the same letter. Look around the room to find objects that start with a, b, c, etc. Then, with a pencil, help the child write each letter on the guide lines. Frequently review the letters they have already learned to reinforce their understanding. Look for other books in the series, for numbers, shapes, and colors.
