After countless hours of gameplay, I can confidently say that it's worth 5/5.
The construction of the game is good and the materials seem to have the right weight. And because the rounds are fast, they put you in a spiral of construction-destruction-redesign. No castle design can withstand time as creatively made as this one. Lots of laughter (and mishaps). It's not like the classic one we used to play when we were little, but here we have lost other and more important things...
Very good quality. Simple rules and easy to set up. It is fun, but my 6-year-old son got bored quickly (he didn't even play 10 times).
Very fun! For greater enjoyment, you need to get the 2 basic expansions (Siege! and Artificer's tower), while the Vikings expansion also includes additional warrior figures.
The basic version is quite simple and needs to be enriched if you want the fun to last longer. Personally, I got so addicted that I managed to get all the additional accessories. It requires a lot of searching and even more money, but from my side, I really enjoy it, along with my children!
Very enjoyable, family board game with lots of fun and laughter!!! To accommodate more players, it can be played with knockout rounds until the final, which we have tried. I will definitely purchase an expansion in the future!!
As others have said, it strongly reminds me of the Castles & Siege game we used to play when we were kids... So it's natural for me to expect that it will have slightly more complex castles and not just 20 bricks. Of course, there are also expansions (which I'm considering buying) that include additional things, such as catapults (hopefully also bricks). However, after a few games, we added some wooden blocks and a few Playmobil figures ;)
Anyway, I believe it's worth its money!
My children are 7.5 years old son and 5.5 years old daughter. At first, they were excited, battles, panic, chaos! Along the way, they got a little bored. We are waiting for some moments and possible expansions. Because 35 years ago, I played the classic Castles & Crusaders, I consider this one inferior. I don't know if it's because in the 80s it was an oasis compared to the other board games and now kids literally have everything! They can't enjoy them! Good quality pieces, catapults, soldiers, etc.... but I believe it doesn't compare to the variety of the original game.
Perfect game for a family with children!!! It is the same as the old, beloved "Castles and Conquerors" that we used to play in the 90s but in a children's version!!! I play with my little daughter (8 years old) and we are laughing our heads off!!! Of course, we have bought two copies and now we have also ordered two expansions for bigger castles and more soldiers and weapons!!! The game is worth a thousand!!!
It was purchased just yesterday at the price of 23.60 euros. It is a fairly good quality construction compared to the old and beloved Castles and Crusaders, of our beloved El Greco. However, I would say it is somewhat lacking even at this price, I would like the package to contain at least more bricks. I also consider it a disadvantage that the bricks do not connect, like in the old game! It may be heavier and not as lightweight as the old one, but it makes dismantling the wall very easy, because they are simply placed on top of each other. It is worth more when at least one expansion is purchased! For lovers of the old game, and not only!
The basic game at the price of €26 is overrated. The catapults and balls are well-made, as well as the bricks. The soldiers are unpainted (gray and white) and bend relatively easily (be careful not to step on them). The board that you set up the Castle on is approximately 12*17 and its thickness is very small (similar to watercolor), resulting in the bricks leaving indentations with the slightest touch. All the soldiers have the same pose and the white ones have a pose that mocks the opponents (personally, I don't like it). I will try some expansion soon
It is of higher quality than I thought it would be at this price. Fun game (to play with younger ages, not 14+). The base game (without making additional purchases for expansions) will easily become boring, but we "enhanced" it with our own creations (playmobil, lego, etc.) and in the end, it is quite interesting.
