High image quality is achieved thanks to advanced optical elements that use:

The aspherical elements compensate for various aberrations, providing high-resolution performance across the image, even from the largest aperture with shallow depth of field. The ED glass element eliminates chromatic aberration and effectively reduces chromatic aberration that may appear at the periphery of the image.

The minimum focusing distance of 24 cm (0.79 ft) (AF) / 18 cm (0.59 ft) (MF) provides excellent close-up performance.

With the wide 24 mm viewing angle, the lens is also ideal for shooting selfies with a hanger or grip.
