The cheapest workable machine on the market. Worked it all last year when it was a heavy harvest. Did about 400 trees. Pretty fuel efficient but gets heavy quick and the cheap strap doesn't help. If you have the extra cash go for something lighter.
Motor, metal and plastic parts, carburetor, all have excellent construction quality. However, it was observed that the rubber hook of the machine was damaged within 2 days. It is important to note that the rubber from Brumi, which comes from the company Katsantonis, fits and can be used for replacement.
The machine was used during the harvest of Megaritiki crown roots and some green roots in the area of Spata in Attica. In green roots, the yield was low, as it decreased by about 10-20% of the total fruit. In Megaritiki crown roots, the yield was better, but it did not reach 100%, as it decreased by about 60-70% of the total fruit on the tree.
To achieve 100% yield, additional methods are usually required, such as the use of sea urchin or the rake. Another problem observed is that the hook does not catch the small branches that are about 1 centimeter thick and resemble twigs, but have several olives. And if you manage to catch them, the vibration does not shake them because these branches are elastic and move with the hook. In this case, the use of additional methods such as the sea urchin or the rake is required for this type of branches.
It should be noted that the machine has significant weight, about 18 kilograms, and also requires gasoline, about 2 liters. This can make it difficult to transport during work. It is also recommended to replace all the screws with safety screws to avoid losses.
In summary, it is a quality machine that performs its task, but due to the variety of trees, it is not always possible to achieve 100% yield. Usually, the use of additional tools such as combs or sea urchins is required for effective collection of the olives.
