In the world of political refugees, the Greek Civil War intersects with the European experience of "real socialism": a world completely unknown, distant, and hidden behind the Cold War "curtain". The novels and stories written by political refugees, as well as those that speak about them, unfold before us an extremely vivid literary, political, and human landscape. The book examines the works of political refugees based on the concepts of trauma and memory: concepts that can shed new light on the corresponding literary production in Greece. The concluding chapter examines the combined literary production of the two parallel mnemonic communities, the political refugees and the survivors in Greece. The question posed for both is the same. When does Greek prose reach the point of representing the Civil War as a dual trauma, recognizing the trauma of the Other?
