Knowledge of the past helps us understand the evolution of people and things. It is impossible to understand and justify the present without knowledge of the past.
The organizational structures of local communities with their settlements and respective administrative centers in the 19th century, as well as any changes in the 20th and 21st centuries, now have historical significance. Understanding the significance of this today has national value as it is associated with the perennial politics, which is known, from other studies, for its subjugation.
The province of Nafpaktia has shown signs of civilization since ancient times. However, the Athenian state has always aimed at the depopulation of provincial settlements and has achieved this nationwide through administrative changes.
This study simply mentions the people, where possible, and all the settlements with their changes so that the local researcher as well as every ordinary citizen can see their ancestors and, above all, the evolution of history at a local level.
