Saint Spyridon, the patron saint of Corfu, is a luminous figure who guides us on the path of virtue.

Despite being illiterate, he not only became the bishop of Trimythous in Cyprus, but also confounded the Arian heresy with the miracle of the tile during the First Ecumenical Council. With his holy life, he was counted among the sacred choir of the Church's first saints, enduring the tortures of persecution with admirable courage.

His miracles are countless to this day, which is why the hymnographer addresses him as "the river of wonders".
