Description

"If the world was born from some divine oddity, then woman is the creature with which the Almighty proves how unpredictable his inaccessible nature is."

This witticism, as much as it belongs to the eternal male prejudices, proves to everyone, men and women, how necessary it was to write this book.

The more I study men, the less I tolerate them. If I could say the same about women, then everything would be perfect.

Arthur Schopenhauer

Fair sex?

This sex with the flat chest, narrow shoulders, wide hips, and short legs, only the clouded by lust male mind could call it fair: because in this passion, male lust, lies all its beauty.

The weaker sex

Women are the sexus sequior, the inferior sex in every respect, whose weakness must be protected, while the excessive display of respect towards women is ridiculous and throws it in their eyes.

A creature without specific interests

Women have no sense or sensitivity for music, poetry, or visual arts, and when they pretend to, they simply fool those around them in their attempt to be pleasant. This deprives them of the ability to truly and objectively be interested in something, and the reason, I imagine, is as follows: Man seeks to possess something directly, either by understanding it or by force. However, woman always and everywhere has indirect familiarity, specifically through a man; her direct influence is limited to the man, and only to him. Therefore, the nature of woman is to see everything as a way to win the man, and her interest in anything else is always pretentious, a mere bypass on the way to her goal, consisting of coquetry and pretense. That is why Rousseau writes: "Women in general do not love any art, do not immerse themselves in anything, and have no genius" (letter to d'Alambert, footnote 20). Anyone with eyes who sees the deception can confirm this. You only have to see how they behave at a concert, in the opera or in the theater, the childish simplicity, for example, with which they whisper to each other while the most beautiful pieces of the greatest masterpieces are being played.

Review this product
  • This particular book is definitely not a guide on how to flirt or learn tricks to have many women. On the contrary, being written by a person from the 18th century, it presents the views on women as they were in that era, considering them quite inferior compared to the male gender, etc. But if someone wishes to learn in detail how women were perceived back then, it is just what they need. However, if they want to learn how to live with women today, unfortunately, they will have to look for another book.
