  In short, the processor is VFM and it's a beast. My friend and I have identical PCs, he just got the 3xd. We barely get 10 fps in various gaming at 2K resolution. Attention: It definitely needs a GOOD cooler. I recommend liquid cooling. I installed a Liquid Freezer II 240 and the temperature when I load it ranges between 48-70 max degrees without having touched the fans in BIOS (default).

  Very powerful and fast CPU, I combined it with an ASUS motherboard (B450M-A II) and a 1060 and I can say after a month of use that it doesn't lag anywhere and makes multitasking seem like a breeze. Its temperatures, combined with the Be Quiet Pure Rock Slim 2 cooler and 2 fans in my mid tower case with decent cable management, are a maximum of 85 degrees in AAA games with ultra graphics and various open applications. At idle, it's at most 60 degrees. The 190 euros it costs is a steal in my opinion. It should be noted that this is the first time I've used an AMD CPU and I am satisfied with its performance!

  Combined with a Crosshair VI Hero and an NZXT Kraken X62 liquid cooler that is 4 and a half years old. With the ASUS core performance boost closed (it was giving 1.51vcore!!!!), it runs at 51 degrees after 15 minutes of AIDA64. Those who talk about temperature should probably check because the BIOS is likely pushing much more vcore than needed. A very good upgrade from the 1700 I had for the last 5 and a half years!

  Very hot chip. With an aftermarket cooler (6 heat pipes), mx-4 paste and 6 fans in the case, it reached 93 degrees! I undervolted it and calmed down from temperatures. I noticed that it was giving 1.45v voltage which was basically unnecessary, and this is because the technology known as pbo reads how good your cooler is and boosts the cpu more and more. Now I'm working with 1.28v voltage, very stable and I have a max of 78 degrees which, due to the fact that it's already a hot chip, is great!

  Good morning. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the temperatures. 79-85 degrees in gaming is excessive, although AMD considers it normal. It's a good processor, it runs everything well, although I expected a few more FPS in a couple of games... Compared to the 2600x I had, it's a HUGE upgrade. The only thing I did was undervolting and lowered the performance a bit to gain -15 to -20 degrees. Because those temperatures were bothering me :P Also, if anyone doesn't have proper cooling in their computer, they should get one if they plan on getting this processor. It doesn't need to be super expensive, but not a joke either.

  Personally, listening to the reviews, I had formed a completely different opinion compared to this and the 5700X. However, in practice things are different - it's definitely not a cold processor, but it's not the monster I heard about everywhere. If you keep it with stock settings and don't want to delve deeper, go for the 5700X. But if you have the patience to work with it a bit, the result is more than satisfactory. With stock settings, I boosted it up to 4950MHz with 43 idle and max 83 under load, along with an Arctic Liquid Freezer 280mm. So I did some research and found the sweet spot at 4750MHz all core OC permanently, with 32 idle and 67 degrees under stress. I don't think the 5700X would have reached this performance, so I'm quite satisfied.

  Rendering 4k with daz studio, and having 6-7 tabs open in Firefox, 3 tabs with just some pages, one tab with chatgpt where I asked something unrelated, and 2 tabs playing videos on YouTube, it reached a maximum of 78-84, and as soon as it hit 80, the cooler I have increased its speed and brought it down.

  I don't have liquid cooling, I have the arctic freezer 2 double fan...and I've put the paste that came with the cooler in a small tube on top...

  Good for Rendering/Multitasking applications and for streaming. On Windows, it doesn't understand anything.
  If you want a processor only for gaming and VFM, go for the 5600X. The difference in FPS is max 5-12% max and this difference "in some games".

  Negatives: High temperatures as soon as it is stressed. Whether the game is demanding or you are decompressing a large .rar file, for example with very high compression, it easily reaches 88C. 89-90C in extreme bench stress.
  On the other hand, it is designed for such temperatures, regardless of whether these scare us.

  If you have time and want lower temperatures with the same or even better performance, it is the right time to experiment with Undervolt. Of course, many do not know, cannot, do not have the time, or simply do not want to. Accepted, don't even consider the 5800X.

  Don't read that with a good cooler it will run at normal temperatures. This processor needs UnderVolt - it is hot!!!

  WARNING: I wrote this at the beginning. If it's only for gaming, really look for something else.

  With Arctic Freezer II 360 with 6 fans 120mm on the radiator (push/pull configuration) and in a LianLi case with a total of 14 ARCTIC fans 120mm, it easily reaches 85C stock while gaming and of course with PBO turned off.

  It is mounted on an ASUS RogStrix B550 E-Gaming costing €320 (and not F), one of the 3 best B550 boards available: the best VRM, PWM controller, and many others. The reason I chose this expensive board is for stability in UnderVolt.

  With Undervolt per Core, I reached max 74C (OCCT stress test 1h) and with better performance than stock.
  In all games, it did not exceed 67C,
  It was also tested with 3 other triple radiator AIOs (Coolermaster, Thermaltake, Raijintek). By far, the ARCTIC outperformed them all in temperatures and especially in noise levels.

  If you go for AIO, especially for this CPU, choose the ARCTIC LIQUID Freezer III or the new one from DeepCool.
  Also, with a little more money if you can, consider the 5800X3D.

  Excellent value for money CPU. I consider it possibly better than the 7600X based on the price.

  Combined with:
  Asus TUF B550 Plus WiFi II
  2*16GB DDR4 4000MHz CL19 Ripjaws V
  (total cost 511.45€)

  I raised the multipliers to 48 on all cores with 110 speed instead of 100 (a trick we do on A520 motherboards for boost instead of overclocking) with 1.3v through the Ryzen utility.
  All core performance 5.280 core speeds. It needs good cooling, I have a Cooler Master 240L with 4 fans and it doesn't go above 78°C in 1-hour tests.

  If I went for the 7600X, I would pay 350-400€ for the CPU, 250-300€ for the motherboard, 200€ for DDR5 5200MHz 2*16GB, total cost 800-900€... For a 12% single and 2% multi performance boost.

  It's worth it with the 1000! Use the money you save for PSU upgrade, case+cooling, CPU cooler, GPU! Turn the bronze, gold and the 6600 that costs 300€ into a 6800 with 550€!!! You will see crazy performance in games and applications like all around!

  P.S. It has PCIe Gen 4 with 20 lanes support, so with a 1-2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD (*4) and an RX 6700/6700XT (which you can find for 400€) or if your budget allows it, an RX 6800 (520€)/6800XT (650€) (*16), there is no game that won't kneel in front of your build. Also, activate SAM and StoreMI! +10-25% more FPS (AMD CPU+B550/X570 motherboard + RX 6000 series) and with the PCIe Gen 4 SSD, your HDD will skyrocket with minimal loading times in everything!

  AMD is excelling lately in good prices!!!

  At this price, it's an insane value for money, it will keep you at least 3 years at top level in games. With a B550 motherboard around 100-120 max, we're talking about top performance with no more than a 400e combo cpu/motherboard. If the new RX 7700 XT cost around 500 with similar performance to the 6800xt, then we're talking about a relatively cheap system with top-notch performance. Vfm is the most important thing.

  Awesome CPU that almost always outperforms the i9 11900k and competes with the i9 12900k with DDR4 memory in some games. When combined with the Arctic Liquid Freezer II and Carve Optimizer, with an all-core negative -30, I see temperatures of 72 degrees in Cinebench 23 and 79 degrees in Aida 64 after 30 minutes of use. It doesn't bottleneck the RTX 3070 in 1080p and obviously not in 1440p. At 300 euros, I consider it worth it with a simple B550 motherboard for 100 euros. It doesn't need anything more. I have it with 32GB of RAM at 3200MHz and it has no issues with RAM overclocks

  It was installed on a b450 tomahawk max with the latest bios, along with 2x8gb Corsair vengeance lpx 3000mhz c15, rx 6600xt, and seasonic gold semi 650 watt. For cooling, I used the noctua u12s with a push-pull configuration.
  It worked flawlessly with the memory running at 3200 mhz.
  I didn't change anything in the bios and left all the processor settings on auto. It ran cinebenchr23 at 4.45 ghz all core with a power consumption of 145 watts! It reached a temperature of 91 degrees, which is quite high, but it didn't throttle down the frequency. The score was 15,100.
  I decided to enable PBO in eco mode at 95 watts and ran cinebenchr23 again. This time, the TDP reached 122 watts and the frequency was at 4.3ghz with a maximum temperature of 82 degrees and a score of 14,500. There was no difference in single-core performance between auto and eco mode at 95, where the boost reached 4.85 ghz in both cases, with a score of 1587.
  The idle temperature was around 38 degrees, and during gaming (tested with cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p ultra settings), it reached a maximum of 72 degrees during intense moments, but generally stayed around 65-67 degrees most of the time. These measurements were taken with hwmonitor.
  Conclusion: This processor is a beast with aggressive boost capabilities, but it runs very hot under all-core full load. It has excellent compatibility with b450 motherboards, as long as they have good quality VRMs.

  Coming from a Ryzen 5 2600, upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5800x with the following specs, I have to say:

  Mobo: Gigabyte Aorus B450
  Ram: Corsair 3200 gHz
  GPU: Gigabyte 3080ti
  Cpu Cooler: NZXT Kraken X63 Liquid Cooling

  To make this processor compatible with this motherboard, I had to do multiple updates to the BIOS with the previous processor installed, which took about an hour. Fortunately, there were instructions on the Gigabyte website. It works flawlessly with the B450 chipset.

  I changed the processor due to bottlenecking with the GPU.

  As for temperatures, the processor runs hot in general, and now that it's summer, even with liquid cooling, it often reaches 75-80 degrees under full load. With a little research, I found that this is normal for this CPU, so I continue to use it normally.

  Overall, the processor is a beast, and after 5 months of use, I haven't encountered any problems and am completely satisfied. The price is a bit steep, as I got the 2600 for 125 euros, and if I didn't have a bottleneck, there was no chance I would have changed it, as it is also a beast and very affordable. The purchase of the 5800x at 300 euros is a bit expensive for what it offers. I think 200-250 euros is a reasonable price for this CPU.

  In conclusion, I would only recommend this processor for high-end systems and when there is financial comfort. It is overkill for systems with mid-range GPUs.
